More investigations for the mags from HMRC?

I've been suggesting people not make wild predictions of an apocalyptic result for Newcastle United, because it will make them look silly.

I know the same as everyone else, because I too know very little. However, I'm not assuming the absolute nightmare scenario for Newcastle is really the likely scenario. Nor am I assuming the best case situation, for fear of looking foolish in the future.

You may not, but others have.

But honestly, what do you think is most likely?

And that's your concern why?

People aren't placing bets, risking their homes or actually making serious predictions ..... it's just chatting about football on a football forum. You seem to believe it's some kind of courtroom with absolute proof needed and oaths sworn. You know no more than anyone else but that isn't stopping you endlessly speculating.

As for defending defending Ashley, it was you ....... you seem to keep forgetting what you've said on here.

'Ashley has, on a number of occasions proven his loyalty to friends and colleagues at Newcastle."

I think it's significantly less than 49.999% likely we'll be demoted to League 2 tbf but maybe that's just me.
On here again i see. Why don't u just buy yoursel a Sunderland top and be done with it? ;) Relegated to the championship is more likely granted

I glad the slither of attention I gave you wasn't wasted and was entirely justified  And you didn't go with the 'mag on a messageboard' angle straight away either. Oh, nevermind.

It's a message board for Sunderland fans though. Yes, the apocalyptic outcomes are unlikely, but why shouldn't we have a bit of fun speculating? How does that make us look silly?

The bloke is a complete buffoon. He was raging across numerous Pickford threads on here during the summer, lecturing us all on how the lad was worth next to nowt and how silly we would all look when he gets sold for buttons. He was vexed about SAFC having a valuable asset, he couldn't hide it. Now he's getting himself into a frenzy because as one might expect we are having some fun speculating over the likely sanctions facing his club if they are found guilty via a major criminal investigation and prosecution.

personally I think the wages suggestion, should be brought in. especially when it comes to EPL wages.

I also think that if under 21, they should a schooling type programme to keep them at "work" from 9 - 4. They could do their normal training and other life learning skills. A kid with the amount of money they earn, will only lead to massive issues. Keep their minds occupied and let them be shown and appreciate how a good and honest, hard working person lives.

Yeah, even if the schooling they receive is tailored to lads hoping to make it. Teach them physio, teach them data analysis, media studies, psychology, business, etc.

Bring back the indentured servitude that stood pros like Shearer in good stead. Cleaning boots, and stuff.

It's the confidence that accompanies those prophecies of doom. these don't appear as flights of fancy, but what people genuinely think will happen.

Can we not just wipe them from existence? Anything other than this is a cop out by the Pl.

Naaa man, it's much more fun having them around even if we are on the receiving end for a while.
A season without the derbies makes it a "nothing" season imho.
I detest that club as much as anyone, but you need "derby spice" in your supporting life.

I didn't say that his loyalty was a good thing, now did I? He was loyal to Pardew, to Kinnear, to Charnley and so on.

Hey, if people want to make outlandish predictions with the kind of confidence we've seen in this thread they can. But if they're wrong, I think it's only reasonable that any Mag has free reign to dredge up these posts and remark on hos ludicrous it is. You think that shit will fly? because I think it won't.

None of this is really true though, is it?

What's the context of my use of those terms?

This is an internet forum, people sharing their opinions and insights is pretty much the point; what will the team be at the weekend? who will win the win the league? the next manager to sacked? etc. If we all just waited to see what happens rather than guessing on the facts at hand this forum would be a duller and quieter place. Not sure how anyone will look silly either, if new facts emerge I wouldn't judge someone on past guesses based on previous facts.

For fun I'll guess, at present, HMRC are confident enough that I expect Newcastle to be found guilty, the PL won't be able to back down with media attention and will have to fulfil their promise to deduct points from Newcastle to relegate them (if Newcastle are still in the PL when this is concluded) and the FA, who are under scrutiny from Parliament (who hate Ashley), will be pressured to give punishments of their own, a transfer ban at the least.

I don't care if I'm proved wrong and will change by mind if new facts come out. You can argue with my reasoning or claim bias but you can't say I'm wrong.

Dear me, so you're claiming you now believe that loyalty to 'friends and colleagues', as you stated, is a bad thing ........ and you had the nerve to post this earlier,
"If your argument consists of quibbling over semantics, don't you think it's a bit silly?"

Of course it's true you helmet.

Usual Mags chomping like fuckery  So how long will it be before HMRC come to a decision then? Could go on for years couldnt it?
Can't see the revenue rushing into this, it's taken them quite a while to get this far. Thing is, the longer the mingers try to throw spanners in the works, the deeper the revenue will dig. Why fart about appealing if the hacky gets have nothing to hide.

Can't see an appeal being upheld now. HMRC have proven that nufc deliberately withheld information and have described the MD as dishonest and untrustworthy. It's damning.
