That's exactly what's happened mate. For a lot of Short's reign we've essentially got a cheap version of the managers first choice.
There's a difference between saying "we can't afford that player" to saying "this player you want to sign is within budget, but I don't think he's good enough".

If the manager finds a player within budget that is willing to sign, Short or any owner for that matter, isn't then going to make a judgement on the player himself and overrule the manager.

Illiterate coward. :lol::lol::lol::lol:

Royal 8 er is clearly anti-safc, at least thats what he told me last week for questioning short..

If a person pays 20k for a second hand car that's worth 5k, should the person keep the car for as long as possible and hope to get his 20k back? or should he realise he's a complete tosspot, its his own fault and fook off out of our club.

Thank you Mr Short for squandering the hundreds of millions of pounds the club has received during your ownership and bringing it to its knees. I am so grateful for your your stewardship.
Better?
I would like to see just the monies recieved from Sky since he has been here.

Some ingrates on this site.
He inherited a club in massive debt from drumaville.
Kept us afloat when revenue was unable to cover player wages and fee amortisation.
Sanctiomed 280m in player fees ( double that when you take into account wages, loan fees , agent fees ).
What has he done that is wrong?
Turned the money tap off it appears.
What was hr supposed to do..keep throwing good after bad.
People seem to think he doesnt need to recoup money he has loaned. I dont get this.
Do people understand business finance? Double entry book keeping.
From benefactor to scrooge...amazing.
As I said ..INGRATES
You are talking more sense recently keep it up marra

There's been too much of this talk for it not to be true.

I thought we had reached the bottom but we are about to go to a whole new level ffs.
Yes it really must be true and it really hasnt happened.
Bet you are gutted

The problem is, his mis-management made it very likely that all of that investment was wasted.
That's HIS fault. He can't claim to be the amazing benefactor, when he fucked things up at every turn and had to repeatedly pay to correct his mistakes, only to then go ahead and make even more.

And then wanting to reward his own failures by wanting all his money back the dick. The lad is a clown.

Admin Hun it's lusharooney Hun

Nobody can knock ESs support. We had top 8 wages last year, and apart from us and Bournemouth (for opposite reasons) everybody finished where their wage bill said they would.
But he's fooked up royally with appointments. If he was a real man he'd take it on the chin, write off the debts and get out of dodge! He's bringing down an entire city for, what... 5% of his net worth..

That's the thing for me, he's tried but ultimately failed miserably at it. Why then should he get a large amount of it back? He runs the show, he calls the shots and has been a disaster really. The state we are in now shows that and is all the evidence needed. I use to defend him a bit, but the buck stops with him and he's the common denominator in all of it. He's failed and wants his money back for doing so. Not how this should go at all. Be a man, hood your hands up and admit your mistakes, don't punish everyone else for it. He'll walk away a very wealthy man whatever happens, while we suffer the consequences of his haphazard, clueless approach for years.

9 games in the Championship and everyone is almost suicidal. It would have been 9 years had it not been for Short.

Ok he's made mistakes and we are paying for it now but it's 10 years of Premier League football we wouldn't otherwise have had.

And to all those who say you'd rather have been in the Championship under a different owner, I didn't hear you complaint when we were spending £40m a year on players.

Most if not all of his appointments were welcomed.
