How did he squander it.
It was never enough in the first place.
It's in the accounts. Wages and amortisation year on year were im excess of revenue. Indisputable fact.
Are you saying he should not have sanctioned the money for fees he did to moyes, mon and dick?
Year on year we had deficits of 25m to 30m.
His mistake was indulging crap managers we all wanted.

Appointed a bunch of idiots to run the club that's what.
 
While I'm usually one to defend Short against the more ignorant allegations against his ownership, losing vast sums of money is hardly the commendable trait some of his other defenders seem to think it is...
 
I hate Short more than most on here but risking the club no longer existing isn't worth it IMO.

A lot of people with no interest, knowledge or love of football have done very well out of his time at SAFC. This was made possible by his lack of football knowledge. These people wouldn't of gotten through the door in the pre Dramaville era.

Most of them seemed good choices at the time. It's only with the benefit of hindsight we now realise how bad they were.

So are you saying he should have appointed the managers and then interfered with the transfers and told them they couldn't get players they had agreed to buy?

Short, for all he's a successful businesman has been very naive in trusting the wrong people without football knowledge.

The club is on its knees and dieing a slow death in front of our eyes. How you can defend the man responsible, is utterly ridiculous.
