I loved Freehand. They did integrate some Freehand type features into Illustrator after Adobe bought them out, but it's never been as easy to use as Freehand was.I always used Macromedia Freehand, personally.
It's not that cheap, the app by itself is about £20 a month. Although a student Creative Cloud subscription is £16 a month for all the apps.Just get an Adobe Illustrator account? It's a pittance a month and pisses all ower anything else.
