I'd love if they made one on Robert's Rebellion. Henry Cavill would make a great young Robert. Maybe Chris Hemsworth as Rhaegar?

Nee chance they'd get major Hollywood actors man. It's costing them enough to pay the cast they've already got.
There would be no very expensive CGI for dragons and direwolves so the budget for actors would open up exponentially.

HBO are currently getting 4 or 5 different prequel series developed by different writers with the view to taking on one of them as the spin off. GRRM is involved with a couple of them but I believe he has said none of them will feature characters from Game of Thrones, so no Robert's Rebellion.
Valyria and their conquering of Essos could be a good show ending with The Doom, or something a bit more recent like the Blackfyre rebellion. Aegon conquering Westeros seems like a bit of an easy choice but I assume one of the potential series will be looking at that time period.

I dinnar like. There's that much lore and backstory to everything that they can hardly just make something up. Dunk & Egg would be a good starting point for prequels. A young lad never in line for the throne, travelling about squiring for a knight, and all the adventures that go with it. Then ending up on the throne. Then all the shit he faced as king - his kids betrothed to the Tullys/Baratheons etc but deciding they wanna buck each other instead. plenty material there to pad out a few series with all the flavour of GoT. Even fuckin' about trying to bring dragons back culminating in the fire at Summerhall.
