Do we envy the Mags too much?

Bigger club than us, get over it.
The same way Arsenal are bigger than Tottenham or Liverpool are bigger than Everton. The Rivalry is the best part. Cant understand the constant threads about them though. Some on here are absolutely obsessed
Probably perceived as a bigger club but not sure there's too much in it to be honest. Both are complete also rans in grand scheme of things.
Agree with the obsession though. It seems some take more joy in the mags demise than our own successes at times.

100% this. They are a bigger club than us though

Benitez, like Moyes failed at his previous 2 posts. He failed to keep the mags up and only got them back up after a huge spending spree. Promotion to the premier league is fuck all by the way of an achievement. Unless you think the likes of Chris Hughton or Mick McCarthey are brilliant managers.

On form West Ham are the worst team in the league. Spurs would have beaten the mags anyway, just a matter of time.

3rd string, what was he keeping the 2nd string for? Don't talk daft man :)

To cover the injured/suspended first string. You can't call West Ham the worst team in the league after 3 games that they've had to play away from home, there's clearly worse sides than them.

"Only" got them up after a huge spending spree  Mag manager uses available resources, achieves objective. Panned on here. He should tried to do it with a team full of free agents just to prove a point. If hitting a £150m premier league jackpot is as simple as spending £50m it's a bit odd that nobody else thought of doing it.

Finished a whole point ahead of the manager you previously sacked for not being good enough despite spending way more. Genius manager this rafa.

Would you be interested in buying some magic beans, fools gold or perhaps the emporer's new clothes?

Now who's deluding themselves? Brighton finished a point behind them because they had a great season. Or was how much Benitez spent supposed to worsen Brighton's results?

I hate the long threads about the mags that just descend into certain posters calling each other. When one of us wins something then perhaps we might have a reason to gloat!

His teams are so effective because his expectations of his players is drilled into them over and over again until the penny drops. Going there with 10 games left to turn around somebody else's squad wasn't going to be a walk in the park for him. He lost 3 in his first 4 then it started coming together, going unbeaten the rest. I watched them against Spurs where they were superbly set up until the red card and I watched them against West Ham (with us on the radio in the background) and I reckon he'll have them comfortable in mid-table if he stays.
 why are you claiming you're not a mag ffs? Every single post you make is about how great they are :lol:

He only had control over 2 of their results.

However, a genius manager with a large budget should surely do far better than finish only 1 point ahead of an average manager with a far smaller budget. You know him the mags sacked for not being good enough for the premier league.

Obviously I don't expect you to be able to comprehend the simply logic of the above with your head up a fat Spainard's hoop.

Its one thread that has probably been merged a few times with others. I can't say I've read much of it.

I'm quite happy to sit back and see how great a manager Benitez is. He's had roughly the same money as Moyes had, less than Allardyce.

Can the messiah keep them up...

Its two threads both equalling 200 pages each. 400 pages on Rafa this summer alone.
