Well done Sunderland

My biggest concern was that we had to have this lad DRIVE UP FROM WALES to sign. Meanwhile his agent took a train from London.

Are we so skint that we can't get these people a flight???

Perhaps he is staying up here to train and wants his car to get around?

I don't get why everyone seems pleased that Kone is staying, if he's going to be anything like he was down Barnsley all season then he will be a liability. He only stayed cos no one else wants him

Agreed - I was delighted we got shot of djilibog Lens and Khazri. Just as important to get the wasters out the door as they can be a drain on anything positive going on.

Nope - straight back to the wales squad mate, got back at 5am.

Was talking to someone last night and said that I found it funny that only Sunderland could go back to spending the amount of money that was available in the late 90's, they have had the big money era and completely ballsed it up:lol:

That's the spirit lad!
And the funny thing is I'm an omptimist

I dont want to like your post but I respect your view...it matches mine... Sad days.
Yes I think we might have a long wait, I personally loved the first 9 years of our stay in the top flight, it was the best time for me supporting SAFC. But short has made too many mistakes and has to go, he needs to take the hit, he has failed.

3 solid players (injury concerns to one side) however it's very clear shorts game plan is just to survive in this league until he sells up...
We've been here longer than he has , we can wait a bit longer. ;)

He's going mate, it's just a matter of when. Unfortunately that's his decision and not ours. We'll just have to be patient. Meantime I think Grayson will do ok for us in spite of not having a pot to piss in

Have you lot seen that front page of the Ronnie Gill?.......if you think we didn't do well you need to see the state of the front page! I can't post it, not sure how to.

I hope you are right marra. I used to like short, but the he sold Henderson and the alarm bells were ringing. Pickford was the final straw. You don't sell the heart and soul of your team, any simpleton knows that.

Most of his cash will be in his assets, much like Ashley.
Yes illiquid assets

Historically this place has always been a bit more negative than our actual support.

Despite people's genuine concerns, it is now time we supported Grayson and the squad he has managed to build on a shoe-string budget. Of course, I would have liked a 20 goal striker, but sadly it wasn't to be.

I've always said short has not got as much money as people think. He certainly has not got enough to compete, not even with Bournemouth, they have a man with cash and a solid plan.
Nice full page in the Mail today from Moyes... Moyes stated " Ellis Short told me had had put £300m into the club and that no more was coming" I may have a word or two wrong but basically, that is what he was told. He regrets saying about the relegation fight after the Boro game...He for got to mention the odd £30m he authorised to spend last summer.. He also stated the "he didn't think it right to take compensation due to 70 staff being made redundant" and "if he had know the state of the club and the finances, he would not have taken the job"

And he is looking for another job:lol:

I'm just behind the lads and I can only give my support and attendance. The rest I cannot change.
If I was in a position to change things I doubt it would be the same so I agree

I saw this, he also was saying nobody could have kept us up! Big Sam would have, I can guarantee he would have got more points.

all things considered and the negativity shown on this board for the last 7 days, I think SG/MB have done a canny job to get 3 reasonable (but not world beaters) players in
It was canny shite, like.

Good business today. Shame we didn't get McCormack but not to worry.
We dodged a bullet. As for the others? Players who are free are free for a reason and remember that in November, when we're calling them worse than shite. We've had an awful window.
