Well done Sunderland

We've done vaguely okay but, whilst we all want to try and be positive, at the start of the season I thought we'd be about mid table; these signings aren't enough for me to reassess that, still think there's not enough to push for promotion
Agreed as current squad doesn't have enough quality to even dominate a game. We've seen that already from the first 5 games. Can't see where the goals will come from with the exception of Gab and McC. Those thinking Watmore or Maja will save us need to be realistic as they won't

I think that Grayson deserves credit, but the clubs utter ineptitude has been underlined again with failing to get anything for Kazri and Djilibodji.

Everyone else's players have increased in value 5 fold and we're loaning them out! What we've wasted over the years shows a complete lack of knowledge on how the game works.

My fear is that we've seemingly settled for a mid-table finish as being a decent season. If we don't bounce back within the next year or two we're going to be cut adrift.

He's been dealt a shit hand Grayson but he's playing it well so far.

I like how he just gets on with his job and doesn't complain and be negative as that will pass on to the players.

You need a positive leader to get good results not a negative who's on a downer ala Moyes

My biggest concern was that we had to have this lad DRIVE UP FROM WALES to sign. Meanwhile his agent took a train from London.

Are we so skint that we can't get these people a flight???

I think Wilson might be ok if his knee hasn't gone, I don't think the other two have kicked on as expected. Both could quite easily be shite.

The comments from the teams they've left have pleased me and given me hope. West Brom fans seem to think McManaman was treated very unfairly by Pulis and injuries aside Palace fans seem to rate Williams judging by their forum I went on last night.

Time will tell but I'm hopeful they're solid signings at this level and I'm just pleased we got some bodies in.

3 solid players (injury concerns to one side) however it's very clear shorts game plan is just to survive in this league until he sells up...

He might not like to fly? What flights are available from Wales to the NE? (Bristol to Ponteland but not sure how regular it is?) Shows he was determined to get here and sign for us though, I like his attitude.

We've done nothing since WWII man.
Not strictly true

So all of the 280m on crap players over the past decade is his fault and not the managers at the time?

We need something positive like your best mate making up complete nonsense and passing it off as ITK truth. The ramblings of an insecure man endorsed by his insecure friend
The problems always come from the very top, we have struggled for too long, he is the only constant

Of course, but he wants to sell, that is what you want isn't it?
Doesn't everyone?

With mcnair and Watmore to return i think the squad looks ok.

And end if last season i expected turmoil at the club but to be fair its been reasonably well controlled despite the clear need for a crash save on wages.

Im a bit disappointed about the striker situation as spending a bit there could make a huge difference.

I think alot will come down to kone. Will he be bothered or not?

You got that spot on about negativity mate! However I still see some right helmets on here having a go at him, we will be OK, it's going to take time and there are harder times ahead, it's what the club must do to get back on a level footing.

Will always get the helmets having a go, just miserable sods who moan for the sake of moaning.

At least he seems to have got players who have previously played to a good standard and maybe fallen away a bit and given them the platform to hopefully perform and build back their careers. Given that b@stard Short has given Grayson f@ck all to work with don't think we could expect better. The players may work out, they may not but at least Grayson has got on with it, not whinged (like Moyes/Benitez) and tried to do the best he could.

Very good day both in terms of those brought in, those we got rid of and those who we expected to lose but stayed.....Another striker would have been the icing on the cake but feck me for less than £2 million spend Grayson has worked bloody miracles.
I think that a striker would have been more than icing. It is a crucial need. But I agree that Grayson has done good business.
