Teams to go down in 18th place have finished the season with 35.9 points on average, or 0.9 points per game.

The 17th placed teams who stayed up have finished the season with 38.4 points on average, just over a point a game.

Average of 36 would keep you up

You really are a parody of a Mag

From the article you have just quoted:

Christ on a bike. You only have to finish above the team that finishes 18th, not 17th. You numpty.

Team in 18th averages 35.9 points.

Therefore to finish above them you'd need to average more than 35.9. That includes averaging 36 points and the actual number of 38.4. You'd need to average more than 38.4 to finish 16th.

Are you learning?

Seriously, is this some kind of summer holiday joke?

You're happy to state that the 18th placed team averages 35.9 points but not allowing average points for the team which finishes 17th?

Rafagation beckons.

except no-one can finish with 35.9 points you f***ing muppet. and an 'average' is just that, an 'average'. more than 36 points keeps you up, on 'average'. let's hope you get '36.1' points this year and see where it gets you.

What are you on about  I accept that the average to finish 17th is 38.4 points. However an average of anything above 35.9 and below the average of finishing 16th would be enough to finish 17th. If the team finishing in 18th is averaging 35.9 points guess where you're likely to finish if you average more than that? Yep, above them! Come on mate sort your shit out.

Where did I say they could?
