What a berk you are mate. "COULDN'T EVEN BEAT VILLA THOUGH"

Obvious Mag doesn't mention Rafa's relegations in Spain. Obvious innit?

Think they loaned Remy marra. Don't let that distract you though.

They.... just give up your covers blown. There's been plenty mags pretending to be lads fans who have been far more intelligent than you and they still got outed.

Your not the first and you won't be the last but you maybe the thickest we've had.

Did Arsenal downgrade when they sold Anelka for £22m and bought Henry for 11?

They finished a point behind Man Utd on 78 and 79 points respectively. They then sold Anelka and bought Henry and had a net spend that year of minus £7m.
The next season they finished with 73 points, 18 behind Man Utd.

So did their negative net spend downgrade their squad?

You tell me, matey.

I've pulled you up on this 3 times now mate. I'm going to stop replying to you because you're not going to be taught on any issue.

So, that particular deal was a downgrade?

His position is that net spend doesn't matter if there's a large outlay. He argues that Benitez overseeing £105m(?) outgoings and £85m(?) should mean that they should have improved. Yet he can't apply that logic to Barca selling Neymar and spending over £90m on Dembele. I've asked him to explain and all I get is "Meltdown  "

Taking incomings/outgoings in this latest window there are 6 teams who have a lower net spend than Newcastle do under Benitez. (Leicester, Southampton, Stoke, West Ham, Burnley, Spurs)

Just looking at spend there are 6 teams who have a lower spend than Newcastle do under Benitez (Brighton, Palace, Stoke, Bournemouth, Swansea & Southampton)

Whilst the proof will be in the pudding and people could debate for hours whether these teams have improved their squads the argument around spend/net spend is pretty much irrelevant as it is what you do with the money at your disposal that counts, could a 'world class' manager like Benitez not compete with a guy at Swansea who has spent most of his time coaching rather than managing for Renato Sanches, Sam Clucas and Tammy Abraham who are all better than what Benitez currently has? Does Benitez's managerial stature in the game not eclipse Mark Hughes who has been able to add the likes of Choupo-Moting and Jese Rodriguez?

I know quite a few mags who agree, I also know quite few that don't and simply won't have it.........each to their own I guess, He may well be hamstrung slightly by Ashley but when you compare his business to that at other clubs I personally think this use of spend/net spend (whatever you choose) doesn't hold much water. In my opinion the money he has spent hasn't improved the team/squad for the mags, despite there being value out in the market and he has to shoulder a large chunk of that responsibility.

This is the time for benitez's world class managerial experience to be shown to the world

If it's true of course, Rafa should be able to do any job, anywhere, without the need of spending £100 million

That is what all the top managers do like. I've heard Mourinho is considering taking the Stevenage job to prove a point

So, that particular deal was a downgrade?

 I've given you the stats of what happened to them for spending less than they made. You can draw your own conclusions.

Could go gold this thread as he's not going to give up :lol:

Mag logic

Pulled me on what... your the only one who's been outed and rattled.

We're all having a laugh at your expense

YOU'RE. f***ing YOU'RE.

I don't even know the figures but I'm pretty sure you've just magicked around £20m on top of the actual figure

It doesn't matter how large the numbers are. If you sell what you have and replace it for less then you generally get weaker. Easy this.

Generally, maybe. But not when you're getting £30m for sissoko as part of that. He had a few good games at the euros and his value increased considerably. Unfortunately for you lot FSW has bought average players and now has to actaully manage

So, you are actually saying Thierry Henry was a downgrade on Anelka due to one season where Man Utd won everything?

I bet your mother likes you, as no one else does.

What an absolute spenk.

It has been proven beyond doubt that historically it's not the clubs who spend the most who win the most.

Success is driven by your wage bill. Teams that pay the most in salaries have won the most historically - not teams who pay the most for players.

I appreciate the irony of a Sunderland fan writing this.
