Rafa. He's still not happy

Not much different to what is being spouted on here on a daily basis tbf.
Spoilt bairns with irrational expectations.
Dont like ashley per se but like short he has spent a shitload of money.
Many fans have short memories and over excited entitlement complexes.
Rafa like many of our managers is a one trick pony. No chequebook therefore no good.
Hugeberk being the main man

Do you think you'll struggle then?

Definitely.
After this window and the clearly public undermining of the manager in the sky interview by Ashley and the clubs failure to deliver players in areas prioritised by the manager, I'd be very surprised if Benitez is still here in a month.

Look they have an airport, automatic qualification to the Champions League final, the best manager in the world and relegation in May. So they have a lot to do.

Florian Lejeune £8,700,000
Jacob Murphy £12,000,000
Javier Manquillo £4,500,000
Joselu £5,000,000
Sels £5,000,000
Dwight Gayle £10,000,000
Matt Ritchie £12,000,000
Jesús Gámez Free
Isaac Hayden £2,500,000
Grant Hanley £5,500,000
Ciaran Clark £5,000,000
Mohamed Diamé £4,000,000
DeAndre Yedlin £5,000,000
Achraf Lazaar £3,000,000
Daryl Murphy £3,000,000

= £85.2 million

why would Benitez sign anyone on the last day? he has brought in 15 players in the last 2 summers, spending over £85million. he appears to be well supported by his chairman in the transfer market, and with a squad consisting of mostly his own players, Newcastle fans must be giddy with excitement at the prospect of a world class manager and his personally assembled squad taking over the Premier League

But Ashley doesn't give them any money...

Rafa is just a fraud chequebook manager as we all knew but they wouldn't have any of it as he had won things in the past.

They only like him as in their heads they've won something through him by association so they can kid themselves into thinking they are a big club.

4 of the 15 you listed have left the club, two are long term injured, the others (apart from Gamez) have featured this season and will continue to do so and weren't looking to be moved on, with the exception of Gayle who the club were open to offers for.

so because the mags havent broken their transfer record since 2005, its a disgrace, even though they have been spending similar amounts on players as other premier league clubs' record signings

Burnley - £13m - chris wood
Huddersfielf - £9m - Mounie
Brighton - £12 Izquierido
Bournemouth - £9m - Ake
West brom - £13m - Rondon
Swansea - £16m - Bony

Wanted Townsend back in January and apparently he was willing to drop to the championship for 4 months as promotion was nailed on and could already start building for the top flight. Board decided to spend nothing.
Other targets were identified early and nothing really happened.
That's where the issue is as Benitez has said several times, it's not been the funds, but the timing of going for players. Delayed moving for certain positions and targets have been missed, resulting in other ones having to be brought in.

Re. Broken promises, I think the fact that he agreed to stay after relegation means he was given certain assurances on budget and recruitment, even the removal of graham carr happened. The fact the manager has had to go public to try and force the club's hand probably shows how bad he feels he's been lied to. Also keeps fans in the picture.
Was it fuck

In the 3 windows he's been there, they've actually made a profit from transfers. My mate sitting next to me is fuming this morning and reckons RB will leave within a month.

I know we like to take the piss and give a bit stick to RB but if he leaves they're absolutely fucked.

Mark Douglas - he's laughing, they all bought the book

He used to be quite good a few years ago, you know. Unfortunately he's caught Lee Ryder now and, probably at his Editor's behest, goes for blow smoke up the unwashed's arse approach. Fully bought into the Geordie Nation, Rafa can do no wrong, shoes off Toonsters. Shame.

its not the point. the point is HE HAS BEEN BACKED

he's a shite manager, signed a load of shit, can't formulate a plan, can't sign players to fit a formation, can't get the best out of regular standard players, and even with £85m to spend, still ends up with a shite squad.

this hasnt happened to Burnley, Bournemouth, Brighton, Huddersfield, Palace, Leicester, Watford, Swansea... because they have decent managers, good management teams, proper coaches and scouts, and a plan, and realistic expectations. the exact thing that SAFC and NUFC haven't had for years

No signings in January, and not getting players he wanted in this window doesn't look like backing in 3 windows to me. A goalkeeper, left back and another striker were the priorities and none arrived
Rafa has had more than enough to be in a much better position, he is the one responsible for your current squad. He chose to overspend getting you promoted, filling your squad with players who aren't good enough. How you can blame Ashley is beyond me.

He has, but to be fair to him, always have a sensible conversation with him in twatter

The club can have every penny it generates was the quote from Ashley.
So in terms of tansfer fees alone that's not being delivered on. Add in the £100m due from the premier league (paid in three instalments, of which we've had the first) which would more than cover wages and fees until the next lot comes in, then the match day revenue and sponsorship money.

even with the profit, it can't be denied that Benitez has spent £85million and has fuck all to show for it. a very poor manager. and we should know, we've seen enough of them

Deluded idiots that's why

maybe he doesnt trust Benitez with the money, given the utter wastage he has created over the last 12 months. a very poor manager it seems
