Isn't he a bit 'tied in' though ? Rumours that Ashley pulled a blinder in his big bucks contract and Rafa has to pay it all back if he walks within 2 years so he's got at least this season to see out.

read some journo on twitter the other day suggesting Rafa cannot leave, which may link into what you posted.
 

There was an interesting insight into Ashley' s relationship with Rafa last night in the shape of John Carver's comments. Carver who was on radio 5, said Ashley would ring him the day before every game to wish him luck and if it was ok for him to attend as he didn't want his presence to distract the team. Quite a contrast with him only ever speaking to Ashley 3 or 4 times since May 2016.

It was just dropped in on 5Live a couple of weeks ago. Don't recall who the journalist was but was suggesting that Rafa can't afford to quit basically and is hoping he gets sacked , which also isn't going to happen....check mate
 
Just bumped into Rafa in B&Q.

He was getting some emulsion because it's on offer.

Not the behaviour of somebody who is leaving soon.

Rafa loves Rafa first and foremost. That's been blatantly obvious everywhere he's managed. The morlocks would be well served to remember this. But they won't because they will think it doesn't apply to them, what with them being "special" and all that.
