Of course she is, there is a definite problem within those communities with grooming young girls, no matter how she framed it. Labour is just shit scared to actually admit a problem or say anything that may upset anyone.
That's not to say there aren't groomers elsewhere too, but to think the Asian/Muslim gangs however people want to frame it isn't significant is just mental.
If the issue isn't tackled head on and honestly, by all those in power, what will happen is a lot more Asians will get tarred with the same brush as more gangs are busted.

iirc she was using the recent case in Newcastle where they were all from mixed asian/middle east backgrounds, not specifically Pakistan. So she was not right in this instance. However as I don't read the Sun and I just picked that up second hand from the BBC.

I don't think it was necessarily what she said, it was the way she said it. It was a bit of a tarring them all with the same brush.

As the suspects weren't just Pakistani, if she'd said "British-Asian" men instead of "British-Pakistani" would she still have been pilloried?

I suspect she would have.
