bookmark this shite ...Ashlee ooot ...you are full of it daft kernt

Eh? Bloke has made huge mistakes running this club and in business but the fact remains he knows how to run a business. I never implied this will always go swimmingly for Newcastle and in particular fans, merely that we are very unlucky to get heavily into financial irregularities. He knows business and can be ruthless. His approach hasnt always been met positively bu fans exactly because of this. For him it will always be money first, everything else second.

We've also been really prolific at wasting millions on players, something that hasn't just started since Benitez came. Riviere, Cabella, Thauvin, Mbiwa, Saivet, Marveaux, Obertan, Gouffran and so on. We've also been guilty of letting talented footballers slip away for less than their value to us because we're miserly with our wage offers; Ba, Ben Arfa, Remy, Townsend

The only difference under Benitez is we seem to be buying players to build a squad, rather than with both eyes on a future sale.
Not bothered about that, it's mainly a load of shite anyway. The 4 players you mention ba and remy went to Chelsea nothing to do about wage offers. Townsend wanted to play in the PL and Ben Arfa was chased as he was a waster as proved since he left, apart from 1 season in France. None left because of wage offers.
Benitez has spent about £100m in little over a year building this squad. If pardew had assembled the same squad there would be hell on.

Consensus on Tyneside is that Ashley prefers to pay up front, so unless you've a source that says otherwise I don't think we are paying the balance on those players.

Point still stands. You spent 100m.at least last season with little turnover.

Would you rather Ashley was sensible as he is doing now or put the clubs long to medium term future at risk ala Short.

I'd rather he got in the f***ing sea and didn't come back out, Ashley has his pro's and con's but during his time here he's basically turned us into a advertising board.

Yes he saved us from financial doom, but the blokes still a complete knaka, albeit a successful one. Him & Short ain't that dissimilar, Sunderland should of pushed on after the likes of Bent/Gyan - Newcastle after the 5th season. It's just complete lack of ambition on both parts.
