Inside the Stadium, not so much anymore, get the odd “We can see you holding hands” often responded to by rows of people holding hands and shouting Coooeee, “Does your boyfriend Know you’re here” responded to with “Your too ugly to be gay” Not at all sure I’ve seen anyone offended by this.

Outside though, now that’s a different kettle of fish. I’ve seen families with kids being subjected to shit like “You dirty f***ing queer cvnts” Bet you take the kid home and ram it up his arse” “Hope you all die of AIDS you filthy bastards”

The rozzers normally do a great job of pretending not to hear any of it too.

Ive Always said if Cristiano cane out as gay it would do wonders to kill this supposed homophobic perception in football

He's quite clearly gay yet hides it and someone of his stature would be the best thing for other gay lads in the sport as in 2017 I'm certain there's many squads with at least 1 gay lad in them but many are so fearful of being open about it because of the ridicule from the stands which is crazy in this day and age

I would class that as homophobic in that context, however i agree that beyond that I haven't heard much. I think we probably would for a while if an opposing player was openly gay though.

Aye you're probably right, I'd like to think that it would largely be self policed though, only a few idiots would do it and that number would quickly dwindle.
