I've just bought 3 tickets for me & the kids on SAFC.com and all the North Stand Upper, Premier Concourse,South Stand and about a third of the East Stand are greyed out...? Could all those areas be full of Celtic on 29th?

Top tier isn't open - tickets only being sold in the lower bowl. Celtic have the south stand and the south east corner, around 8-9000 tickets

Fair enough. It will help having the upper tiers empty just in case. I would have thought they could easily bring double their allocation.

Ticket sales have been really poor in the home end, there's probably more away tickets sold than home tickets up to now

Yes there were loads left.

I was told 9000 Celtic fans were coming. I think it migh have been you that mentioned only around 3000 home? But that was about 2 weeks ago.

I don't know the exact figures as it's hard to judge but looking at the seating plan there's comfortably less than 10000 home tickets sold

Indication of the feelings of the fans, I think the Derby game could be sub 28k.

Agreed.. Derby tickets go on sale @ 9am today, it'll be interesting to see how ticket sales go.

Stupid shit like making it more expensive of I didn't buy before a certain deadline. I'm probably not going now as the price has gone up. Not sure why that's a thing for a pre season game.

Talk of bother, no signings of note. Hardly going to draw the crowds.

Can't blame anyone for not wanting to bother with this one. I've got a ticket but wouldn't care about missing it if something else came up

I still think people are dictated by price. It's supposed to be an anniversary celebration, fill the place with Sunderland fans not Celtic. The whole thing is to sell tickets to thousands of Celtic fans and fill the Hilton for the weekend.

Are they fuck. We charged a tenner for adults and a fiver for bairns for Shrewsbury in the cup last season and 13k turned up. Same price v Burnley in the FA Cup and 17k turned up. How much cheaper do you reckon it would need to be before the fans start turning up?

They were given 11,000 including the whole of the south stand, we'd sold 10,000 home tkt's as of last weekend.
By closing a good chunk of the ground and giving them 11k tickets it means that around 50% of the stadium capacity is left for Sunderland fans. I would have given them 3k and sold tickets for the home ends as cheap as chips to fill the place. They could have had a few fair ground rides, face painting, balloon animal's and invited kids from every primary school in Sunderland to play before the game.

So why have sales been shit? It's all about filling the place with Celtic fans and making money from them. If we'd played say Ajax, the sales would have been just as poor in the home end and zero in the away.

Friendlies are not big crowd pullers coupled with the fact it's nearly the most unglamourous imaginable game for the 20th Anniversary. It wasn't a sell out to see Juventus (Buffon, Del Piero and Nedved) and we were on the crest of a wave. Who the fuck wants to see Celtic.

Using fear to spark panic purchases, our club is riddled with a plague that cares not for the fans and is only bothered about money/publicity

Because, in a nutshell, people aren't interested. When was the last time we pulled in a decent crowd for a match where season tickets weren't valid and everyone who wanted to go to the game had to actually take the trouble to go and buy a ticket? Even against Man Utd at the SoL in a League Cup Semi Final only 25k of our own fans turned out.

If it's not on the season card people just won't come.

I'd like to know how many season tickets we've sold. If as you say people aren't interested, there could be a hell of a drop in numbers.
