4am for the early games. Usually watch those at home but anything later me and a few mates (well, people i've roped into caring about SAFC) meet up. One of the lads owns an Irish bar so we go there to watch. Given how bad we've been you'd think we'd all be glad of the excuse not to have to get up that early but we're waiting with baited breath for them to announce a streaming service!

Yeah but how can they test it if no one is filming it? ifollow is just a streaming service. The games are all being filmed by a separate media company. ifollow allows those clubs to use their service to watch the games. Those clubs that haven't signed up can still show the games using their own service or I suppose could just decide not to show them. This is all just for overseas customers anyway. If you live in the UK you won't be able to watch anyway even if we have signed up. Yeah you can get a vpn but don't forget you need to pay so will need foreign payment details.

At present we are awaiting further information and investigating the various options.

Once we have any further information to share we will of course do so.

Like you say just over two weeks till kick-off but it sounds to me like they haven't ruled out anything just yet.

The pound is a bit weak at the moment so it could be worth the money. And maybe there will be an option of paying for single games as well. There will be plenty of matches shown on Danish telly so an option like that I would welcome.

All of the preseason games have been filmed.
 
Assuming the club gets some money out of it they'd be daft not to.

Surely they're worried about giving pubs/punters at home an easy way to see the games (on dodgy streams)? They might see protecting attendance as more important than exiles watching from abroad?

If I were in charge I'd leave any announcement until as late as possible so that those wavering over season tickets don't go "ah, sack it, I'll just go down the pub and watch it instead".

Lol - again, if only the team were as good as the fans / craic!
 
Shouldn't affect the season ticket sales, as it's only available to overseas supporters (although UK based fans will find a way to subscribe and watch) but surely anyone who was planning on a season ticket already has done so. We're always going to have a good away following so won't affect away game ticket sales too much.

Typical sunderland not to have it sorted and probably won't bother

Don't see how that works. Whether or not they sign up, if the team they're playing has signed up, which more than not seem to have done, there'll be a stream available somewhere for people to get a dodgy feed. Opting out doesn't cut off the supply.
