Live streaming platform unveiled for global EFL fans...

I'll email them. Anyone know if this is simply live streaming, or could you watch the full match later? I'm frighin sick of getting up in the middle of the night to watch matches, be nice to have it available when I get up

This is from FAQ from ifollow site:

"Can you only watch matches live, or will the footage be available on demand?

Full match footage and highlights will be available on iFollow from midday (GMT) the day after a regular season EFL league match."

I did the customer service email on the club site under 'contact us'.

Done.

I let them know me and my mates here are relying on an overseas service so we can continue to get together to watch the games next season! It seems a straight forward decision, I don't know why the club would actively discourage overseas support....especially at a time when we need all the love we can get. It is SAFC though so i'm not holding my breath.

Exactly, Would seem to be an easy discussion. Ifollow Site states:

"Please note that the iFollow service is only available to clubs playing in the EFL during the 2017/18 season and who have opted in to utilise the iFollow platform. Those clubs who have not will have access to the same live streaming opportunity and will be able to provide their fans with access through their own club digital services."

Whether it's through ifollow or the club site it should be a no brainer to continue interest in overseas market.
Quite a few clubs have opted out.... Leeds, Villa, derby, hull, etc. Curious if any of them have announced if they will stream on their own site yet? Seems like all are holding off letting their supporters know.

I thought they were holding back due to the supposed takeover incase they wanted it doing differently but since that fell through I thought something would of been announced by now for this season.

If safc don't join this, what happens in away games, if the home team has?

Presumably you will get a stream then?

What happens if we play a club away who use the service? Are they allowed to show the game?
Yes on their service so you need to pay them to subscribe and as this is yearly (approx £110) rather than by game it would be prohibitively expensive unless you've got loads of cash.

But if we as a club haven't signed up, how can they show any of our games, home or away?

Surely we'll get most of the away games....
Not officially as you'd need to subscribe to every team. Unofficially it might mean streams are easier to come by.

Because that club has. It's done on a club by club basis. So for example if Brentford sign up all their games will be shown no matter if they play someone like us who hasn't. The only exception is if that match has been chosen for tv already (on any channel) then they can't show it. But you only get access to Brentfords games. You couldn't watch a different team if Brentford aren't playing.

Aye thats what i meant

I'm thinking about sending an email to them also, not because I expect an update but just so they know there's interest. The more of us overseas supporters who do so the better I'd imagine.

What's the best address to use?
Where you at like Horatio lad?

Have also emailed the club to express my interest in this or an equivalent service. Happy to pay for the subscription. Comcast don't have BeIn sports so really are looking at scraps if any on Fox or NBC without it.

Suppose I better bookmark this thread anarl.

I thought that would only apply if the match had been taken up by a broadcaster in your 'territory' [sic]. i.e. I would not be able to view it this way if a Swiss TV company was already showing the match, but could view it if only an american [say] broadcaster was showing it.

Don't know to be honest. I just read it as if it was on TV anywhere it wouldn't be on.
