With Defoe, Borini, Watmore, Anichibe and Pickford, yes. Without them, no. We currently have no strikers and we no longer have a class keeper. On current squads they would beat us imo

Man for man - maybe, probably not but they are a team. An actual team who play football, we are not. Certainly not last year.
They look pretty weak (bottom half at least) but they came up champs and that will give them a little lift over other similar teams next year.

This is the type of ridiculous thread we would have crucified them for at the start of last season when roles were reversed. The fact they have a striker who scored 20+ goals last season and we have lost our two best players from an already threadbare squad means no one should be under any illusion that we have a better squad than them.
Sunderland scored 29, and the player who scored 15 of those has left. Anichebe with 3 of those goals has also left. Borini with 1 goal has also left.
That leaves 10 goals in the current squad, unless more goalscorers have left? And with no strikers, it certainly.is a bit crazy to suggest Sunderland currently have a better squad going into the championship season than the team who just won the championship.
