Don't think he is the lift the club needed at this point
but that's not his fault

Got to get behind him.

Hopefully the club get their act together in the transfer market he last 2 windows were a disaster

Yep and i hope any dissent after we make no moves in the transfer window are not aimed at him. We all know what the problem at Sunderland is, the rotten core. And I don't mean the players.

Happy enough with it, bit of a boring appointment really but I can't really see who'd be a likely appointment who is a better option.

Wonder if Preston try and bring back Moyes.

Good appointment.

11th two seasons in a row with a combined spend of less than £2m. Solid experience at this level. Has worked successfully with several dysfunctional boards. Wants the job and will feel like he has won the lottery when he sees our facilities and ground.

He is what we need IMO.
Agree totally

The maddest thing is they are wanting Moyes back like he is the second coming.. Bizarre..
Moyes did a good job for them last time. just reading the link you sent...they are genuinely dissapointed he is leaving...one bloke said gutted.

I knew SG was from Yorkshire but a lad on there said he lives Northallerton...thats a good start for me...basically we have had part time managers for a number of years as they never moved here but chose to live in hotels.

The club is already a laughing stock what is 1 more to the mix eh.

I actually think he'll be a steady enough type of boss, nothing special but not disastrous. Unfortunately given your relegation and the state of the finances and the clip of your shite squad 'nothing special' isn't even close to being good enough. You needed a boss to inspire fans and players, Simon f***ing Grayson isn't that boss.
Fuck off man you sad bastard. Never off here like are ya?

What we need if we're happy with finishing 11th for the next 2 seasons then. I'm being serious here, some people will be.

His record is of excelling in League 1 and doing ok in The Championship for a while before ultimately going on a double-figure winless run and being sacked.

Never took a team up or down from the Championship - basically about as average a Championship manager as you could ever hope to find.

Not excited at all.

Will feel like he then lost the winning lottery ticket when he sees the squad and is told we haven't got a penny to spend on any players.

Not excited about his appointment but happy that he knows this division inside out. He's been around a while now but comes across as still being hungry , unlike Mic Mac for example.
Good luck Simon
