Ed Sheeran is playing st James park on stadium tour so it seems Sunderland have ended concerts for good.

Think it's very short sighted of the club sadly

I've been to a few gigs at the SOL and they have generally been badly organised with horrific sound. No real loss.

Question is how can we make a loss when other stadiums do regular gigs.

Now the 50,000 people that will spend money in Sunderland Will be spending it in another city.

Mate, we can fuck anything up.

I agree about the latter part, it's disappointing for the city.

I'll be happy with a draw, but really we should be looking to beat him.

Wait til he bumps into Colback, confusion will reign.

Missing the point ^

Quite a lot of them never sold out so it's no wonder they were losing money.

They were practically giving tickets away for some of them in the end like at Bon Jovi

How though? I don’t know how it works but do we not just hire the SoL out to the promoter? So we get paid regardless of how many tickets are sold? Then get money in from hospitality, catering contracts etc.

We get all the bar sales , rent from hiring the stadium and all the exclusive packages the club offers.

Just no idea how we can make a loss, especially seeing how much drink and food is bought during one of these events.
