Got to laugh ..

This bloke appears to be an up and coming manager who is having a successful spell in Scotland, probably on a shoestring.

However, he is the same nationality as David Moyes and the league isn't a great standard league so some are presuming he must be absolutely SH!TE! From what I have read, his tough time at Bristol was caused by Financial Fair Play restrictions in which he had to halve the clubs wage bill over summer, having just saved them from relegation. Correct me if I am wrong.

But in other threads people are clamouring for the appointment of Kevin Phillips or Stefan Schwarz. Just because they did well as players here. Even though they have zero club managerial experience between them.

Short is constantly looking for a model to follow. He found a model, a male model, who is now recommending a Scottish model. This after the Udinese model, the Spanish Flair English heart model and the Congerton experiment which wasnt even a model. Fucks sake, nowt against McInness but as others have said it smacks of thrashing about in the dark and coming up with a name.

People say he got Aberdeen second on a shoestring but what would be Aberdeen's budget compared to the rest of the league. Obviously not to the likes of Celtic and Rangers but to Dundee, Motherwell and Kilmarnock? I'd imagine only Hearts would have a better budget?

Would you like him here?

I'm more into this appointment than I would be for Hodgson etc. Young manager who's improved year on year and isn't afraid to take on a challenge. Aberdeen play intense football, high pace and in the face of the opposition.

Interested to know what @Perryqhill and @The Cabbage think?

I know nothing about him tbf as a manager, other than Aberdeen seem to be on the up. Wasn't enthralled by Hodgson though I think he's been decent in the past doing short term jobs at club level.

No he hasn't . You have made that up.

What number do you live at and we can work out either side which door he can knock on............you can then repeat it Maybe that's why you stated that you "currently" live near. Alternatively drop Stewart Milne (Aberdeen chairman) a line and see what response you get.

For the record he is absolutely professional, ambitious and driven to succeed ........in England. That is why he rejected the opportunity to go to Rangers after the Warburton debacle.

Sunderland fans calling Aberdeen a pub league team... They havent won a major trophy in over 40 years. Fuck me, we have won 15 major trophies, including two European trophies in that time !! Sunderland fans and the like, are classic examples of teams who play in multi million pound leagues and because of that, think they are somehow more successful or a bigger club. Wankers!

The pub league that is dominated by Celtic. The same pub league team that goes through Champions League Qualifying and who have seen off AC Milan, Man Utd, Liverpool and Barcelona at various group stages whilst us Sunderland "fans" languish in our self pity and excel at playing the role of victim to perfection.

But we are the best fans in the world..............like fuck.
Calm down dear and ask Ash Taylor

Results aren't everything, the personality of the manager is also very important.....
  • Someone who doesn't look like he's just emerged from his crypt for his nightly feed, would be a good start.
  • No more alchojock humour, it's a pc world we live in now. Must be media-friendly.
  • Someone who can manage players, and get the absolute best out of them
  • Someone who's career is progressing with goals ahead to achieve in their career
Not sure McInnes is up to the task to be honest, a little of same old? Jokanovic/Schwartz/Monk.

I think he is one of the better options we could get realistically but under a new owner things could be totally different. No outstanding managers linked because none would work under Short.

Ellis Short needs to fuck off and sell soon

That must be the strangest office in the city then.

I've worked there for 5 years and I don't particularly like Aberdeen FC but the city and surrounding area is pretty passionate about the team, it's indisputable actually.

Honestly not a peep mentioned about it even from the folk I know are season ticket holders at Pittodrie. I think they know they haven't a cat in hells chance of winning hence lack of enthusiasm, when they got to league cup final against ICT few seasons ago more people were vocal about it.

Assuming a significant number of the squad stay I'd say someone who can command respect is vitally important.

I think they gave up on Moyes as soon as his name was announced so god help the next man.

I did electrical work at the new builds at Charleston,.finished up last Friday. Loads of Dons fans on site and nearly all going to Hampden....all good lads with none of that Proddy/Catholic crap you get from the Old Firm support...

Results are be all and end all to me. Couldn't care less if he's a "canny craic" or not. McInnes actually seems a quite forward thinking manager from what ive read, his Aberdeen team play decent stuff.

That's good to know. But Aberdeen I just think isn't the best club to showcase his style of play. I think that's the issue with some fans.
