Was just about to post the very same. And on the subject of Russel Crowe they left Robin Hood wide open for a sequel too but I don't think the first one was rated high enough or made enough money.
Miami Vice could have been a franchise if it wasn't ruined by shite acting (Irish tit) , casting (moody Chinese) dialogue and muddy photography. Apart from that I liked it.

Layer Cake. The sequel book is very good but instead of Daniel Craig we now have the possibility of that baldy cockney wanker as the main man.
I always thought there was potential for a sequel to the Fast and the Furious. Pity no one else was on board.

I'd have liked to see an LA Confidential 2 and possibly a Gladiator 2 - but rather happy that there wasn't a Forrest Gump 2 or Bodyguard 2.
