the supporters will go home happy a lot. makes a change like
You must be using a different crystal ball to me.

Looking forward to hearing what Shorty plans are for the future, hopefully they don't involve him or Moyse. Bottom line is we are in mega debt, and continuing to loose money. We have a poor over paid squad (even taking relegation cuts into account), best we can hope for is a bit of stability next season, with a promotion push the following year. If we are not back in the PL within the three year parachute period, we could be in the wilderness for years. Massively important close season coming up.

I am not convinced we will win many games unless things change quite dramatically with the team and management, but I will say that many of the more enjoyable seasons in my lifetime have come when we are in a lower division - dare I say it the old 3rd division being amongst them.

Its true, the standard of football is lower, but it can actually be a lot more exciting to watch.

The big problem these days is how damaging it is to the club (aka business) as so much is about money now and there is a huge gulf in finances as you drop down.

Yup, it was tremendous!

I feel that a club has two seasons to get back up. The parachute payments last for three years but tail off dramatically in the final year. Bear in mind that you should be getting in the region of £95 million for last place. The parachute payments start next year.

No, I won't.

Winning games in the Premier League is a totally different buzz because our natural level should (it isn't be it should be) midtable so it feels like a genuine achievement when we win games in that league.

We will feel a bit like Man Utd fans in the Championship - winning will just be a relief rather than ecstasy. It will never have the same feeling of euphoria because a club of our size shouldn't be there.

A club of your size??

There's bigger clubs in the championship

I remember Quinn losing 4 in a row and under Reid the debacle at Reading. The pub league will be tough.

Ah so it starts the pub league will be tough....6 weeks ago it was a pub league that safc would piss easy

So funny to see people tunes change dramatically now

Nowhere do I say we should give up. Would you mind pointing to where I said that? Thought not. I was just quoting a stat which shows that perhaps 50 points may NOT be enough and that perhaps we may not be capable of getting 50 points in the 46 games we will be playing.
Fuck off man. Those players are capable of not being in a relegation battle in the championship ffs

There's no doubt that most mags thought they were a massive club in that league last season, so don't try to pretend otherwise.

We did yes but let's be honest the only thing we have going for us and the same with you is a decent crowd that doesn't define a big club to me our history shows we have both won fuck all in nearly half a century...perennial losers

Yet the championship is littered with teams who've won major trophies since we both did

Getting a big crowd doesn't make you a big club

You must be the only one of the 55 thoosand crowd that thinks that then.

This whole big club thing pisses me off as if we or yourselves have any god damn given right to be a premier league team

In the last 5 yo 6 years the 3 worst managed and ran sides in the premier league have been us villa and SAFC, no surprise we have all gone

Yet people's arrogance think well run clubs like watford, stoke, swansea, bournemouth,Burnley are tin pot compared to mighty SAFC and don't deserve to be in the premier league let alone beating you

Bet you think you should be beating them though. Be f***ing honest

It would all depend on how both teams were doing that season if we were bottom and Bournemouth top why would I think we have the god given right to be beating them just because we are supposedly a bigger club

It's nowt but arrogance....the championship is full of these supposed bigger clubs than these tin pot premier league clubs as people say on here

Will we win games? At the end of the season we'll have to replace 6-10 players. We don't have any idea how good our side will be next season.

We are just as likely to do a Leicester/Sheff Wed/Sheff Utd and drop down another league as we are likely to get promoted imo. The mood is so morose around the club, the fans are against Short, Short has lost interest and appears unwilling to invest any more money. Bain is like the Grim Reaper and Moyes is a zombie who has lost any managerial credibility he once had. We are being told that Moyes is staying despite the fans unanimously wanting the club to get rid of him. It's about as distructive as it gets.

There is currently nothing positive coming from the club, they severely need to get their act together. The problem is, Short has had over 7 years to get a plan in place and we still look lost. We still have no leadership and we continue to underperform, underachieve and they fail to provide the fans with any form of consistent entertainment.

I'm desperately hoping we are bought out in the summer. I know it's a long shot but what else is there to hope for? Another 6 plus months following a Moyes side that can't score, are mentally weak (like their manager) and have zero passion? No chance.

100% and totally agreed with this statement, as long as things remain as they are we can kiss goodbye to the premier league, and if we finish lower mid table next season, i won't be surprised if something like villa happens to this club or worse... lets hope we don't end up like leeds or ipswich or wigan.

How many teams/clubs from the prem have thought the same and are still in the championship or League 1 now ?

ipswich
leeds
blackburn
wolves
wigan

to name a few

Totally agree, contrast yourself to us even though we'd suffered relegation the club was filled with more positivity and hope than it had Been the last 7 years everyone was on side

There's absolutely no positives you can take from this at the moment and to go back up you need positivity flowing from top to bottom
