I wouldn't be surprised if we signed Murphy on a free. I think they'll hang onto Gayle, he'll be decent backup. Out of their current line-up I don't think many will be able to hack the Premier League. Apart from Shelvey, Ritchie, Mbemba and Darlo the rest are championship level. Even these four are questionable, we all know how shite Shelvey was for Swansea and he wasn't a shining beacon of light for the mags. It's only since they've been relegated he's all of a sudden adopted the "great passer" tag.

I said the exact same thing about Murphy at the match on Sat. As long as he is available on a free, I suspect we will try and sign him.

Not a bad signing for back-up. It would suit him and suit the mags I imagine.

I imagine he will want to remain in the area, so it could be good for both parties. That said, and for obvious reasons, we won't pay a fee.

He's a poor manager don't get me wrong I would gladly swap him for Moyes, Those owners at Liverpool who got hounded out backed him to the hilt, but because it was Rafa and they failed to build a new ground they were hounded out. I ve no doubt you will get promoted and so you should with the cash you spent. But I reckon he will fuck off if Ashley sticks to his sound business model and doesn't give him 80 million +
