I think Shelvey, Diame and Ritchie would improve a lot of bottom half teams. Yedlin is what I'd call 'passable' (we know that ourselves). The rest need to be improved on.
To be honest, bottom half of the Premier League will likely be the limit of our ambition next year. I think Darlow, Clark, Mbemba, Yedlin, Hayden, Shelvey, Ritchie, Gayle will be fine, but I'd hope to improve on the others. If we don't then the likes of Dummett and Lascelles will have to perform at a level above them when called on. Players like Diame, Perez and Mitrovic will have to perform as we know they can and do it more consistently, it's odd the latter two played better in the Premier League than they have this season.

Mbemba is shite and about ten years older than he claims to be. Dummett and Lascelles are playing at their current level and would be a liability in the PL. Our midfield is lower mid table PL standard if the better players stay fit.

Does anyone else hope Newcastle win and go up?

See them as the most likely of the teams at the top of the Championship to go straight up next year if not this. Could do with getting them out the way for next season.

Disagree about Mbemba, he's got the raw ability to be a mid-Prem centre half, he just need to sort out his consistency.

I don't think you read what I wrote about Dummett and Lascelles, because your reply to me doesn't make much sense if you had.

If fit? Who would be your 1st choice midfield like?

They'll go up anyway. If they did blow it Benitez should be sacked.

Rafa clearly does not rate Mbemba at all judging by the fact he is behind Lascelles in the pecking order. My point about him and Dummett is that we should not be using them as back up in the PL and they need to be moved on. The four in midfield today is about the best we can field imo.

:shock::lol:

The ones I've put in bold have already proven to not be good enough in the premier league. I guess they might have gained confidence from the championship that they could carry over but not the sort of players you can depend on.
