Craft Beer

Nowt but a marketing gimmick.

Thats odd cos I dont like it without, but I do like it with. Mind it might be the same with any fruit, but it seems to cut through it and makes it easier to drink (almost makes it seem smoother).

It is literally a witbier. I think it's crap, personally.
Uses a clean American yeast as opposed to a traditional Wit yeast for the bland American "I don't like yeast esters" palate IIRC.

I do like it though.

The creator of MolsenCoors (sp) admitted that the orange was just a marketing tool used to get peoples attention when it was served at a bar. It has worked a dream like as I doubt this would be anywhere near as popular without it.

Thats not to say it doesnt make a difference though.

Same as the lime in the corona gadgie.

That works spot on, even though it wasnt its original intention. Any fruit will make it less fizzy.

Unless you squeeze the orange in, I doubt it'll do much really, even then, it'll just make it taste slightly orangey.

Always gets a little squeeze from me. It'll make is slightly sweeter, obviously, and makes it an easier drink.

*I guess the stuff im lobbing fruit in is not stuff that id ideally slurp.

Wasn't it originally to keep the flies away, or is that a myth? If you squeeze a big wedge of lime through the bottle it'll squeeze some lime juice in and if it's at the top you'l drink the drink through the lime. So if you like lager and lime then it'll "work".

Not sure what throwing a slice of orange into a pint glass does really though?

I had read that and yes a lager and lime combination will work.

As I said, put fruit in any drink with any fizz to it will make it less fizzy.

The acid of the orange just dissipates the head. If DM prefers it less carbonated I can see why a squeeze of orange may improve the drink.
