Protest At The Man United Game

Status
Not open for further replies.

So can anyone confirm if this is going ahead and if so where and when? Is it before, during or after the game? Is it therefore outside the stadium and if so, where? Or if during the game is it inside the stadium from your own seat or gathering at a specific area?

Or are there people missing the game (as in not going through the turnstiles) and protesting outside?

There seems to be very little information re: specific, time, location, and that Facebook page must be the only page of FB that hasn't got hundreds of replies:confused:. At least the last time I checked it a few days ago.

Anyone?

Depends on what you perceive as 'work'. For me protests aren't about finally giving the manager or the Chairman the kick up the arse needed to get into action. If you think any protest organized by you is going to achieve that then fill your boots. You can protest for as long as you want. Nobody will be paying attention. Protests I am sure are just about venting feelings. Letting the manager or club owner know how much we think and feel things they are doing aren't working.
I would never organise a protest, got more interesting things to do

I never get wound up. You on the other hand...

That's exactly what Reiver wants. He's not happy with Short or Moyes but he expects the fans to continue to attend, watch shite and be content with it.

9 games without a goal out of the last 10  you'd be hard pressed to find many professional teams throughout the world with a record like that. It's records like these that we've sadly become used to.

People commend our ticket prices, even at the low prices they currently are compared to other clubs, they still represent the lowest value for money.

You keep banging away with these wild inaccurate guesses about what I want .... yet you don't have a clue what you want.

Don't try to put words in my mouth, you struggle badly enough to put anything sensible in your own tbh.

This, mate, is my problem with this kind of internet lead nonsense ..... totally uncoordinated, gutless and will inevitably end up as a joke.

The 'protesters' have an arrogant view of themselves, purely on the strength of a bit of feverish keyboard pounding, and sneer at others as 'apathetic'.

The fact of the matter is that the Sunderland support doesn't need a handful of office bound Facebook anarchists.

Over the years, as you know, we've spontaneously 'demonstrated' and 'protested' without any help from these self styled leaders.

Anyone who was present for the demonstrations against Bruce/Wigan, Poyet/Bradford, di Canio/West Brom, etc etc etc know how Sunderland supporters can voice their feelings en masse.

I was at all three and made my feelings known without some internet evangelist telling me what to do and how to react.

There are some who believe we need 'organising' by having some wanker banging a drum or waving a banner ..... we don't, we react as we see fit and make our own minds up.

The last thing we need are a handful of people, who don't speak for us, mounting a pathetic protest that makes our support look a joke.

As you've said the whole thing is a total shambles before it even starts.

For it to work properly - and one I would probably back like many others would - it needs organisation, leadership, a figure head and the support of other SAFC groups like the association or ALS even.

This lot have assumed all you need is a facebook page and a thread arguing between the same old suspects on RTG.

"I'll spell this out slowly, you're obviously a bit daft as your 'like' from Haway confirms

Nelson said, " If Short had been willing to lower his asking price to an attractive level etc etc etc."

This was total speculation, on his part, as he has absolutely no idea of the facts.

I responded with total speculation when I said, "He was .... but no one was interested."

If irony, sarcasm and piss taking have to be explained, to dimwits, then the forum has descended to a previously unseen depth.

If you can't keep up I suggest you buy some crayons and attempt some colouring in .... but please don't poke your tongue out while you're doing it

You're just too precious and say whatever comes into your head to cover your arse when you've fucked up.

Getting this wound up isn't healthy for you." All from @Reiver

Christ you have some cheek. Accusing other fans of getting wound up while you resort to mocking disabled people in your 'response' to others. I think that's a big reflection of your character. There are simply NO excuses for that, but you thought it was OK. I hope you get reported and a (deserved) lengthy ban.

So you're not actually opposed to the idea then? That's interesting.

It's a place to start. Getting support from ALS, RR etc. will take time. As will finding a figurehead who is an influential SAFC supporter. Some of you seem to think that there should have been a fully functioning organisation before doing anything. That was never realistic. Already it's resulted in being put in touch with dozens of fans who want change who will help out in future. The protest today isn't the biggest thing, it's just trying to start to build something and get it going that matters. If you want to help I'd appreciate a PM and I'll put you in touch with the right people, as we need people helping, not sniping from the sidelines.

Out of about 10 lads I either go to the match with or know who go from around here, none are even bothering to go today. I'm ringing and texting about to sort going over and getting stuff like "sorting the garden", "helping someone move house", "got a hangover" or just can't be arsed. So it's either go by myself or just watch it in the house. What a f***ing sad state of affairs this is.

Come to the game, you've paid for the ticket. Let the fuckers know what you think of them

Very sad mate, but not one bit surprised.
