Protest At The Man United Game

Articulate impassioned & summing up the dilemnas we are facing. Instinctively lean towards your desire to try & change things rather than those who either care little or worse seek to undermine in the cause of blind loyalty. Sadly though only staying away will change things. 45,000 crowds of which all have paid to attend but 10-15,000 protesting wont affect the running of the club as much as crowds dipping to 30-35,000.

Good points.

It's to ensure fans participation in the negotiations for the sale of the club to one of the list of interested buyers.

N.B. the fans will accept no responsibility if the new owner, they're demanding, is worse than Short.

We're 150m plus in debt, bottom of the league with 19 points, only scored in one out of our last ten games or something. Bar going into adminstration and being booted down another league, it can't get much worse.

We can't score and we can't win.

So fans should take responsibility then, grand, thanks for that.

Aye. Absolutely embarrassing as fuck.

That'll show 'em!

 Some of the comments on here man. It's as if some are happy with Short and believe Moyes is doing alright.

OK then what do non-protesters like you want ? And how do you think you can achieve whatever you want?

They want change without having to do anything about it. The Sunderland way it seems.

"We can't do that because of X. Why would we do that, Y might happen. "

It's the same in respect to the city itself.
"The city is in such a state, the council need to do something about it"

Who you voting for?

"Labour, coz me dad did."

Full of excuses, no wonder the NE is on it's arse.

So, as I thought you don't have an answer ..... I keep asking the question and no one ever has an answer.

"Short out!!!!!! ....... then, errr, dunno really."

Seems like protesting Short is pointless - he already has the club up for sale.

Protesting Moyes seems pointless - the club probably cannot afford to sack him. Even if they do, no one has any plan what to do if he is sacked.

Back when Celtic were protesting the old board they had a buyer waiting in the wings in Fergus McCann. When Liverpool protested Roy Hodgson they had Kenny Dalglish chomping at the bit to manage again.

It's certainly a brilliantly thought out strategy and a clear agenda .....

What are you blabbering on about?

Do people actually think the fans are supposed to come up with a strategy?

"We can't get rid of Short as he might sell the club to someone's pet budgie"
"We can't get rid of Moyes even though we can't win, can't score, are playing shite and everyone is f***ing sick as we need stability"
"There's only two possible replacements for Moyes in the world and neither will come as the average temperature in Sunderland is one degree lower than what they've become accustomed to living in the midlands"

And when do they want it?

Instead of acting the daft lad all the time it would be instructive to know exactly what you want from supporting Sunderland and when you want it. My guess is you dont want much other than match & beer & like minded souls which is fair enough. But please step aside when people are genuinely wanting a bit more.

I want us to compete in the right half of the premier league. To do that we need the owner to fuck off. To speed that process up people need to stop putting money into the club. Booing or holding up banners in the ground once you've paid in won't bother the owner. Especially as he's pretty much never there.

That's guesswork though isn't it ...... gate receipts mean very little these days tbh.

For true fans it's only matchday and that will happen whatever league we're in - meet the lads - drink a few beers - celebrate or commiserate - takeaway - home - sleep it off.
The experience is everything the premier league is only there to support the egos of 6 clubs so why not fuck them and enjoy it as always. :)
