Craft Beer

Any of the London lot going to the Beavertown Beer Festival @ Surrey Quays, in September? £55 to drink as much as you can, as well as learn about fuggles hops and other shite.

Had some minging Watermelon Wheat last week, f***ing awful, I don't even think the sink enjoyed it. I've still got another in the fridge.
Aldi up here often have a beer festival. I've been getting into darker beers so got a smoked stout or Porter (can't remember which). It was rank! Tasted like a packet of frazzels blended with smelly cheese! Only beer I've ever poured down the sink!

That looks bloody brilliant, shame the Saturday is sold out. I dread to think of how bad my Sunday would be after that, I'd have to take the Monday off.

For anyone interested, Beavertown are currently hiring a couple of brewers. Senior and junior positions iirc. Would mean living in North London on not a great salary mind.

You'd probably get to meet Robert Plant given his bairn is the owner.

Was thinking about volunteering to pour at it. You work one day and get free entry another

Because it can creat some fantastic beers. We do a smoked porter with chipotle dumped in the FV. It gives a nice hit of heat in the aftertaste, absolutely lovely.

'Not craft'.

Mass produced.
Yeah, i dont like it, but theres so many good breweries/beers within a 20 mile radius of here, its easy to find plenty i do.

I'm going on the Friday as Saturday had sold out. Ive already written the Saturday off.

speaking of tesco recently upping there game, so have asda, only the 24hour stores like boldon, worth a look down the beer aisle if your passing anyway.

Anyone got on this?

10 crafts for 20 quid a month, 15 for the first month. Some canny beers in there too.

Yes, Mrs M got me a monthly subscription for my birthday in March. A real mixed bunch first up. Hopefully the next 10 will be tailored to what feedback I've given on the first lot.

I had it for a few months. Was ok. A few beers you could get in supermarkets for less than £2 but some good ones. Didn't turn up one month and got a few poor excuses so cancelled it.

Ah fair enough, I had a pint of some grapefruit IPA which was about 7% and felt it the next day

How are you liking Macclesfield?
Grapefruit? f***ing grapefruit? I despair.
