Craft Beer

Had some minging Watermelon Wheat last week, f***ing awful, I don't even think the sink enjoyed it. I've still got another in the fridge.

Real Ale

That's a proper drink

Craft ale is for posers

My problem with the whole real ale thing is the prescriptiveness of it all.

There are some great real ales that can be called 'craft' as well mind. CAMRA even accepts key kegs as an acceptable form of serving real ale these days.

Is it in a 330ml can

Is it an IPA

Does it have a funky bit of artwork on the cover

Is it £3.50 or more a can or bottle

Does it have fruity tones

Two or more of the above and it can fuck off, frankly

Really mate? I work dead opposite.

Highly recommend this place - especially the double heathen. 10% but tastes like 5%.

But Hunslet is well out the centre? Why would anyone go?

I don't think the tap room is a concern, from what I've heard.

The location of the new brew site is almost as central as where they are now. It's near Dunelm Mill/Leeds Brewery.

Tesco are doing this for £1.90 a can at the moment.

I went to Stone Brewing Berlin in Feb. It's incredible.

That is Holbeck not Hunslet. Some would argue they are in Holbeck now but they've stopped calling that area Holbeck as Holbeck is in general an utter shit hole.

Aye, I always get them mixed up.

I used to work in Holbeck a few years back and it was rancid on a night, some hideous 'ladies of the night' knocking around the piano shop on the corner.

You get the odd one knocking around on Marshall Street near Northern Monk, absolutely hideous as you say.

Be a shame if the tap room goes, the beer garden was just starting to take shape as well.

They've got a few different Stone Brewing cans on for £1.90.
Tesco have brought in a much better selection of craft ales and lagers since they kicked Heineken's beers into touch. The IPAs from Vocation Brewery are superb.

I may be putting a cask of Heart and Soul on in our pub tonight if a particular beer goes. A lovely beer.

Will go on tomorrow if not as the other beer will be past it's best tomorrow.
