Craft Beer

I may be putting a cask of Heart and Soul on in our pub tonight if a particular beer goes. A lovely beer.

Will go on tomorrow if not as the other beer will be past it's best tomorrow.
I've never had it on draft. Which pub is it please if you don't mind me asking?

Edit - I should have read down the thread. Cheers!

Which Heineken stuff were they doing?
All the usual Heineken stuff inc Moretti. Tesco have given Heineken the the boot in a war over pricing. I think they did the same with Marmite!

Nice one, hadn't noticed as i never bought it.
It's worked out canny for us craft beer drinkers as Tesco (at Dragonville at least) have filled the vacated Heineken group shelf space with a greater selection of craft ales, craft lagers and international beers.

One of the' definitions' of ' craft' beer is that it is made by a small outfit. I forget thr exact definition. Something about must be majority owner by brewers rather than brew company and under a certain amount made per year, I forget
In other words it's a marketing con in order to add 50% to the price, like organic food.

Are you running Red Willow at the moment mate? I was in there for a drink just a few weeks ago.

I don't run it. It's just a bridging job between my PhD and starting a new job. It's entirely possible I served you or was drinking near you mind.

Absolutely rubbish.

I know I'm gonna get absolute pelters from the SMB for this. But I have to say that some of these American style craft beers are f***ing class

Granted, a bit more expensive, but they are very tasty

Have a Beavertown Neck Oil Session IPA on the go. Very canny
Just got back from Houston Texas and most of the bars have a massive range of draft beers / lagers.
Did a brewery tour of Karbach brewery which was great.
I'm not too keen on some of the really hoppy ipa's , but the Americans have really revolutionised the beer scene

Ah fair enough, I had a pint of some grapefruit IPA which was about 7% and felt it the next day

How are you liking Macclesfield?

I remember that one. It was nice. We have our own 9.4% Imperial Stout on currently. It's brutal.

I like it (mainly the proximity to Manchester mind) but am moving to Newcastle at the end of this month.

Real ale is also class and half the price.

Although 2 pints of something in the crown posada cost us £10 last night.

Real ales might be made at a 'craft brewery'. It's not a well defined term. We do about 5 beers we sell for £2.90 a pint.
