Adam Johnson appeal

It was on the BBC news the other night that the limit is two pints. I was very surprised. I've always thought it was one, and I shall be sticking to one. Cos I'm a good lad me.

"In England and Wales, you’re considered over the limit if you have over:

  • 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood

  • 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath

  • 107mg of alcohol per 100ml of urine
In Scotland, these limits are lower and more in line with other European countries:

  • 50mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood

  • 22 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath
So what’s this in real money?
As a rule of thumb, two pints of regular-strength lager or two small glasses of wine would put you over the limit.

But this isn’t a catch-all rule. Factors like your weight, sex, metabolism and how much you’ve eaten all contribute to how your body processes alcohol, so everyone has different limits."

Broadly speaking, if a man of average weight consumes two pints of ordinary strength beer of 4% ABV or less, it is extremely unlikely to take him above the 80 mg legal limit, and in reality will probably lead to a maximum BAC of no higher than 60 mg.

Immediately before driving:
- men should consume no more than 4 units

Doesnt bother me mind, one pint and away

Sure, broadly speaking. Easiest way is just not to drink and drive at all, mind. I'd rather not worry about it and get a cab home, than weigh up whether I reckon today I'd blow under the limit or not. Was that 1st pint over or under 4%? Plus, if I get a cab it means I can have as much as I like. :)

There is the argument that some people are better drivers after a few, loosens them up apparently. I think that's a bit irresponsible mind so just have one. Still, good to know you can have two, for those who want to have two.

Heard that argument used by people at the pool table as well. It's horseshit, just makes them more confident/less worried/more willing to take credit for blind luck. There's no way having a beer makes you a better driver.

I'll never understand risking injury, risking lives for the sake of a £3 pint that you'll piss down the drain in an hour anyway. If you're that desperate for that second pint, I'd argue that you've some serious introspection to be getting on with.

Suspended sentence changed to two years on appeal for grooming him on social media then shagging him fifty times.
I knew it was something ridiculous. Surely a teacher should be classed more of a role model? Still, when I was a lad there was a couple of teachers I wouldn't of minded humping. I have probably stood up in their defence in court ;)

Joking aside, that attitude is part of the problem. If it's a young lad, he's up for it (pardon the pun) but if it's a lass she's been exploited (even when she has said she is gagging for it). Both instances are completely wrong.

How many kids know Adam Johnson, even if it's just that he's a famous footballer? And how many could he influence into a sexual act?
How many kids know Miss Smith the Year 9 English teacher from Sandhill View Academy? And how many could she influence into a sexual act?

I'm twisting nothing. He deserves to be punished the stupid twat and rightly so. But the teacher is in a more responsible position, looking after the kid each day so should be punished as well.

I didn't say YOU were man  I quoted the mag, backing up what you've just said ya dafty.

So fuck, I'd rather people think I was guilty but have my freedom than be locked up on the nonce wing for 6 years. It's not like he couldn't afford to reach a generous settlement either. I'd have settled ASAP if I was him, as I say though I don't know if our legal system allows that.
It might have already been said but I'm certain the case was out of the families hands

She did, she got a suspended sentence but was changed to 2 years in prison on appeal. Still ridiculous how she only got 2 years like and Johnson got 6 for a lesser crime.

The disproportionate sentences for similar crimes is confusing tbh, however i guess the real question/debate is- which sentences is more appropriate 2 years or 6? I have to say imo johnsons sentence is fair whilst the teachers one is too lenient

Look worse? He groomed then fingered a child. I don't think some bloke on the internet saying that Footballers have more sway, over more kids, than teachers do is really going to make him look worse, do you?

Wasn't my point. This was while the case was ongoing, I was simply pointing out how fans of his club would defend him regardless whilst their rivals would condemn his actions.

Not always how it works. It can go either way. In my book, he's let down the club and the fans. I haven't the slightest inclination to defend him.

Can't even have one up here since they lowered the limit.

Pint at the match at half time, I'm under the English limit at full time, under the Scottish limit by the time I get past Carlisle
