Nobody is arguing about hindsight i'm not sure where that comes into it. When Robson was abused by Newcastle fans it was shocking then and its shocking in hindsight. What makes it worse is either playing it down as nothing when it clearly, deeply hurt Robson at the time.

Mags love a good reinvention, was nee waiting list when they got 7,000 v Wrexham at herm either.....

True. It's like I said to one of the mags at work, you can't tar all mags as horse punchers just because one out of the hundreds who were rioting and smashing up their city - because their team got humped at home off their nearest rivals - punched a horse.

In the interests of balance, we had regressed from his previous standards. Of course he got us to those standards therefore setting his benchmark which he fell short of. His first season he got 71 points, then 69 and then finally 56 in the season he finished fifth.

Bruce's 10th placed finish was achieved with 47 points. Chop 13 off that and you'd consider that a regression, yes?

Oh aye there was regression under that season under Robson but 5th is tremendous.
