Any one else have mags on fb commenting and sharing stuff about Sir Bobby? Got a good few sharing stuff on mine. I was seeing a lass from Wallsend when he was at the mags. I remember drinking in the club down there and was loads of season ticket holders wanted rid of him. Didn't one of them spit on him too?

Didn't know the spitter was from Wallsend, maybe you should have asked which one it was at the time in 1982.

No- one is suggesting Moyes hasn't had grief

Had a discussion a few weeks back where I mentioned Moyes was booed 45 minutes into his home debut and was told that it was the team that was being booed, not Moyes.

Just applying the same logic here. We were booing the team at the time (Wolves H last game of the season) - not Robson.

Those articles are how it was. The first one Robson himself stating how deeply upset he was at NUFC fans turning on him. The second an accurate reflection of the hypocrisy when he died.

The legend of Bobby is a bit cringeworthy from start to finish.

He seemed a nice man and had a decent career in football management and won a few things back in the 70s.

Even Moyes has been banging on this week about the 'influence' Bobby had on him.

They spat on him for dropping keegan they chased him out the club. They treat him like scum then build a statue. Very strange breed

Not true like, we wanted him moving upstairs into a DOF role as in the 2004/05 season it was clear that a certain group of players weren't listening to him anymore (Bramble, Dyer, Bellamy, Jenas being the key culprits) after Shephard undermined him massively in the following pre-season by saying that this was his last season.

In Sir Bobbys last book he said his brother who had went to sjp for 60 years would never set foot in the club again after the way he'd been treated at the club.

Wasn't it that weirdo Newcastle fanzine writer who shuffles around Chester Le Street that absolutely ripped Bobby apart in the Mag and had a special mention in Robson's autobiography?

People in society in being wankers shocker, you can't judge the actions of the many by the idiotic actions of the few. The general consensus was my interpretation above in my experience.

He wasn't infallible, of course he made mistakes. Particularly during that last season but now is not the time.

A quick search of Mick Dennis on here brings this up like:
