They are, and they are.

Atmospheres are shit all over, if this works, it's £3200 well spent.

But of course, as it's an initiative taken on board by your club's local rivals, you are honour bound to try to mock it. Crack on lad, win them internet points.
Well to be fair you are on the Internet forum of your local rivals so you should expect the piss to be ripped at any opportunity.

You could have paid 3 grand to replicate the famous Crystal Palace atmosphere. Some rippers from the bigg market and a magpie that is trained to fly from one end of the pitch to the other. Add a few drums and you wouldn't need the cartoon flag.

Not my cup of tea, but a nice initiative. It's a tricky needle to thread, if you ask me, you want something that represents the club rather than current players or managers, but you don't want something twee or saccharin. Also, I'd be curious to know if there are rules about the images depicted, I'm guessing they couldn't have images that could be described as violent, or provocative, surely there wouldn't be religious or political images permitted either.

Personally I'd have gone with images of the cityscape, the stadium, famous old players and managers, and that Bobby Robson quote.
What Bobby Robson quote was it the one where he said I can't believe they hounded me out

It wont though, all it does it gets a few people "into it" before kick off then back to a morgue.

*Im presuming its pre match not during the game of course.
The Gallowgate Flags pre-game displays have improved the atmosphere for those matches. Obviously it doesn't transform each game into a cauldron of noise because modern football crowds are normally too filled with tourists, daytrippers, stag-dos and moaning *****. But the flags do improve the atmosphere.

If they're followed by an early goal or a quick start the atmosphere carries on, if it's followed by dreary terrible football, of course the atmosphere will dwindle. But at least it starts from a good place?

I don't see why anyone would have a problem with it, it's not like it's f***ing goal music or those plastic clappers.

If we wanted to recreate the famous Crystal Palace atmosphere, we'd have to empty half the ground then throw some 12yr olds in Stone Island gear under a blanket with a pretty birdy printed on it.

"Famous atmosphere" my perfectly coiffured ball beard.

You need some black coated ultras too.

Crow Ultras of Newcastle Toon

For the record, I'm not trying to mock it. I genuinely don't know what the NUFC / crows connection is.

They are nicknamed the Magpies and the Magpie is part of the crow family perhaps?

The crows look like the ones off the old ki-ora drink advert.
A terrible effort from a terrible club
