Maybe the lass will train with Luke, he'll be grumpy as he's old. She'll not really get it, then feel she has to go to help that Stormtrooper chap and Luke will die in his sleep, happy that he's at least passed on his knowledge to someone with good values.
Just a thought, way out there but it could work.
