Been out with a mag mate...

I prefer to see it as a (bumpy) transitional period in our history;).

Seriously though , selling the backbone (and more) of our squad - and then appointing Strachan didnt do us any favours.
You dont know what's 'round the corner' - you could end up going down and facing years in the wilderness too.

Aye, we would probably be fucked for a while if/when we do and everyone knows it.
We'll hopefully be alright, though. #MoyesBoyes @dangermows

I assume the laughter is because you believe that Rafa and your merry band of losers will have you hammering us.
How did that work out last time? You were f***ing overjoyed to get a point from us.

NUFC.

I seem to recall fans charging at Moyes at home after a few games, foaming with rage , fans leaving in droves well before 80mins, not to mention the amount of threads on here wanting him out/Short out/ Rodwell out / etc.

But no, he's now canny...of course none of the above happened, no , not at Sunderland the canny club, we dont act like the mags, no not us.

It seems you think there's a magical portal that you pass through once you're relegated, stripping you of any quality you may previously have had. The team that fields Player A is relegated, therefore Player A is not good enough for the Premier League regardless of context. Player B currently plies his trade for a team in the Premier League, therefore Player B is Premier League standard regardless of context.

By your rationale Ritchie isn't good enough for the Premier League despite being a regular starter for Bournemouth in 15/16 and being far too good for the Championship in 16/17. But Abel Hernandez is good enough for the Premier League because he plays there currently.

And if that's the logic and if you were to be relegated, your star players would pass through that same portal and suddenly become "not good enough for the Premier League". By your logic.
You've signed a bunch of Championship players/recently relegated tosh (Clark, Diame etc). The ONLY PL standard player is Ritchie, who is a good signing. But the rest of your transfers this year have been tosh, they'll walk that league but by God you'll struggle next year :lol:

No I wouldn't.

I'm enjoying the football, I'm enjoying the atmosphere around the club, I'm looking forward to Saturdays, and I'm looking forward to cup games. Can you honestly say the same?

A season with Benitez in the Championship is, by orders of magnitude, better than a season under McClaren struggling to survive in the Premier League.
Course you are. Keep telling yourself that when you tune into Radio Newcastle!
I'm having a whale of a time, last 2 matches have been excellent, and the mag-baiting is particularly enjoyable today

Bournemouth away was a tremendous day out!

No blame for Rafa? None at all? Despite there being ten games/thirty whole points to play for?
All of this he didn't have enough time shit doesn't wash with us, as we have been there with worse squads and supposedly worse managers, with less time and tougher opposition to play, and we never went down.

Tufty and co. are partly to blame, yes. That also includes the fat has been, like it or not.

For supporters, yes. Not for the good of the club, though.
Anyway, you will be back there soon enough, so let us know. ;)

I have never, in my life, said that Rafa Benitez bears no responsibility.

What you need to remember is that the circumstances for your miraculous survivals aren't the same as the circumstances for our relegation. Your squads weren't blighted by gutless but talented players, they were groups of hard-working but beleaguered professionals. Groups who needed the fresh impetus that the men you employed brought. Both the times Newcastle have been relegated, we've had squads of highly paid, high profile mercenaries who, when push came to shove, couldn't be arsed to do the hard work required at that end of the table.

This doesn't take anything away from the miracles worked by your previous managers, but it isn't rational to try and use those remarkable achievements as the benchmark. Newcastle were relegated because of years of mismanagement and a flawed recruitment policy. Benitez didn't have enough time to turn that around and get those players playing at the standard required to achieve safety. It's been said before, but had he been installed after the Chelsea mauling I think we would have survived.

Had Newcastle employed Nigel Pearson, he may have bollocked an extra point or two from that squad, but I would rather have the future (and full control) of Newcastle United in the hands of Rafa Benitez. Similarly, if Allardyce hadn't got you safe, you'd surely have preferred him to build a squad to get you back up than put it in the hands of a less capable manager?

Course you are. Keep telling yourself that when you tune into Radio Newcastle!

I've been having a grand old time since the final whistle went after Huddersfield, not just the last 2 games.

Bournemouth away was a tremendous day out!

So was Fulham away, even though we lost. Away days are class.

Could have saved yourself ten minutes there (good to see you aren't in the thesaurus today, though) and just said you are shite.

NUFC attempted to copy the SAFC blueprint and failed.
Your manager is a failure, as are your players.

You would never have survived because we are simply better than you.

That's an unsurprisingly silly misunderstanding of what I said.

Opening? :/
What did it say before you changed it? As everyone knows Mags like rewriting hisitory.
The point is that the post is a crock of shit. If we go up then alot of work will be required to get a decent team. No-one is deluded to think it will be easy despite what the Mackem Republic believe.

Hahaha.
Aside from the fact that many of you believe you only need "one or two" additions.

When you replace your relegated losers and overpaid Champo rejects, I suggest you also replace your failure of a manager.
The only good thing at your club is the bloke you all despise (when it suits).:lol:
