Remember how we relegated the mags?

Are you a mag this summer was one of the most shameful spells they've had. The chronic and journal we're at a level of delusion beyond anything they've ever had the fans just as bad.

They beat QPR and their fat mouth piece commentator said "this result won't just make the championship sit up and listen, it will have whole countries attention, with everyone knowing Newcastle United are now really starting to click"

Just shows you that having a decent manager doesn't help when you have cowards in the team. We have got rid of those now for ridiculous money.

Is this the same excuse for Shearer? Bearing in mind the same "cowards" were instrumental in getting you back up such as Nolan & Barton for starters.

Which post? I'll reply if I can be arsed.

Again you are missing the point, you got money in fine but you still spent a large chunk of it creating a squad to get you out of the Championship. More than 99% teams who have ever been at that level are able to spend whether they get money from sales or not. That is a massive advantage for Rafa which is seemingly passing your supporters by, he probably started out with the most expensive Championship squad in history and I bet you are paying the most wages in the league , anything other than promotion after the money you have spent will be a failure

You are looking on course to go up, fine but have you seen the clip of some of the squads that have been promoted from that league us included

Or you can all just think Rafa is going to lead you back to the Keegan era when you spent all that money and won all those trophies ..... hang on

I'm starting to think we may rue sending the twats down; we may find at the end of the day we could do with the 6 points we would have had from them if we hadn't relegated them.:(

Let's be honest here it wasnt you that sent us down it was also the other teams in the league who beat us week in and week out under the clown Mclaren. If Rafa had came in January we would have survived. Such chilling similarities between Mclaren and moyes the gutless displays, the comical soundbites during interviews

Can't see anything other than a bottom placed finish for you lot this year already the Hull and Swansea home games are massive fail to win both of them and it's curtains

Rafa failed to win against Norwich, us and Villa. A result in any of those would've done it. But the fuckwit bottled it  Went to Villa looking for a point thinking we wouldnt get a result against Chelsea the same day. That went well

There is absolutely nothing to suggest that would have been the case. Failed to beat SAFC, Norwich and Villa.

I don't know the answer to this but take Rafa's points per game and apply it from Jan and see if you would have stayed up. It's a canny claim considering you failed to beat us, Norwich and Villa with Rafa in charge plus you got 3 points when you were already gone

See this is my opinion also, they are also ignoring the fact that the fat controller may not have come in Jan

Calm down dear one step at a time. We have got rid of the cowards Janamaat, Sissoko & Windalum. We have bought players to try and get out of this league. IF we go up then I agree with whoever said it earleir that we will need to overhaul the squad again as the current one would struggle again. Difference now is RAFA is building from a strong defence which is a novelty for NUFC;). We are not thinking we are going to win anything but it is good going to games and winning for a change.

So you agree Rafa has had a big advantage over the other managers in the Championship then? Since he had the most expensive squad and the biggest wage bill

Nope, I just find the laughing and pisstaking is embarrassing now. Considering that they will more than likely be in a better position next year.

Okay. The vast majority of relegated teams don't have a lot of valuable assets to sell, so we were lucky in that respect. A lot that come straight back up gamble on keeping their squad together, so even though they're not spending money, they're taking a financial hit by continuing to pay Premier League wages. This is what we did last time under Hughton.

This has been different as we've lost a lot of players, and thankfully most of the high earners. I think we lost something like 14 players, so we had no choice other than to replace them. His brief is obviously to get out of this league at the first attempt, and totally agree that anything other than that would be failure. We all know Ashley is a gambler, and he's certainly putting a lot of eggs in this particular basket.

I don't think anyone is expecting another Keegan era, especially with the amount of money around and the strength of the top end clubs, but it's nice to have a bloke in charge who seemingly knows what he's doing. He also seems a very decent fella as well, which in a sport dripping with absolute bellends, is a rarity in itself.

You may mock our failure to win anything under Keegan, but they were great times to be a Newcastle fan. Great times.

It's just raivalry. They've took the piss out of us for years. Then we've took the piss out of them. What you gonna do? Never say a word for fear of it biting you on the arse. Football is cyclical so just enjoy it when you can. Admittedly it's not very enjoyable at the minute but we did relegate the mags which is what this thread is about

He has turned a squad with loads of holes in it to a one with cover all over it which is again different to recent years. The amount of money Villa have spent (which is way bigger net spendmore than any other Championship club) might mean their wage bill is higher than ours but ours will be one of the highest
