Long way to go in that league. Sounds like the skunks got lucky tonight. Bound to run out sooner or later. More settled and experienced squads than theirs to take advantage. Fat Spanish waiters first season managing in championship and the bulk of their first team doesn't have any experience there. They'll tail off

17 shots to 8, 6 on target to 2 along with 4 corners to 0. 49 possession to 51.

What basis is there to suggest we were lucky last night?

Believe bruce will get a 'tune' out of villa.
3 good strikers by that league's standards and 2 good mf in grealish and jedinak.
Both teams still very catchable

If Villa win their next three games, rivals will take notice.

Meanwhile, Norwich are at Brighton two Saturdays hence (not on TV), Norwich ; despite not having a proper Manager?

Yep for the entire season we will be watching Gayle rip the net in the wonderful knowledge that we are going up - and finally with a manager that can take us much higher still.
And the cherry on that cake will be watching you lot floundering at the bottom with Moyes scratching his head on the touchline.
We may be below you for now - but admit it - right now you would swap places in a second. ...

He supports Everton, it even says it in his username you thick get

Championship

A lethal combination of baccy and blue pop - works a treat :)

14 points and a significantly greater GD is a tall order imo for Villa to overhaul even at this stage of the season.

No, Aston Villa are not Manchester United in 1996 btw

Can't believe any of you are letting Newcastle fans hastle you.

Just say championship. We're top of the league... Championship. It's great winning every week... Championship. Dwight Gayle is the greatest number nine in the world... Championship. Can I have a cup of tea?... Championship.

Hammer it home. They're in the f***ing championship, they are below Sunderland for the entire season.
Aye for ONE season til they pass us on the way down. I don't feel like gloating, especially as they've won a premiership match more recently than us!!!

The future is looking very bright for us, as I've said even now we have a better squad than your good selves and dare I say a few other teams in the premier league, I do think we'll come up just still haven't decided if that will be in 1st or 2nd yet, the team are looking stronger with each passing game and we've cut out all the bedding in and mistake issues we had when we started the season.

I fancy us to come up and with about 4-5 quality additions we will stay up no problem and provided he continues to be backed Rafa will eventually have us looking up the table.

Would much rather be in our position than yourselves fighting relegation and signing shite every season, you need to hope you do get taken over because its the only way this cycle might break.

You have a squad littered with pretty bang average players that may or may not get into lower half teams in the PL, that's about it. The gap between the two leagues is huge as proven by Norwich who persistently are too good for the Championship but never anywhere near good enough for the PL. I'm not dismissing your point about us, we know we are shite but I'd be pretty confident that side could easily compete in the top 6 of the Championship as its an absolutely guff league.

Don't be f***ing stupid man, you have a good Championship squad and that there is no doubt. Jesus f***ing wept, what do we say about Mags again? And the penultimate point is utter f***ing nonsense but makes you feel good. I take it that if by any chance, no matter how small in your tiny little mind, that the mighty Newcastle are struggling, you'd accept relegation again
You are in the Championship winning games, so what man. Every other club in the country would want to be in the Premeirship, but not you lot.

Apparently they're going to relegate us back by taking our place in May ;)

Very true words there. Mind, I saw my wife's (no) friend and her mag husband at the weekend and the first thing he said was 'you're only one place above us, we'll be swapping leagues next season, blah blah.'

It's great to be in the top flight, but I genuinely would want to be in Newcastle's position, rather than Sunderland's (with all the facets of both positions included).

Unless something drastic changes at Sunderland, it looks like it's going to be another season of frustration. Another season without much to cheer about. Yes, you're in the top flight now, and you may even survive once more, but don't you want more than that? More than just being (in your own fans' words) "the turd that won't flush"?

As it stands, Newcastle United are looking good for their promotion push and have money in the bank from the parachute payments + the monies received from player sales this summer. If Newcastle are promoted, they've a squad of lower Prem/Upper Champ players that they can add to without bankrupting themselves. Doesn't mean they'll necessarily stay up if they are promoted, but they at least have a clear vision, a single minded focus. And all roads leads to Rafa.

To put it into context, I wouldn't swap Villa's position for Sunderland's and I wouldn't swap Bournemouth's position for Newcastle.

But why are you comparing yourselves to us? Are we your be all and end all? there is no guarantee that Rafa is a messiah either. At least the rest of your post is more balanced than your colleagues was.

This thread very quickly stopped talking about Norwich and began talking about Newcastle, then came the implication that it's better to be rock bottom of the Premier League than top of the Championship from an Everton fan. I refute that, wholeheartedly.
