DARYL MURPHY TO THE SCUM!

Calm down lads hes a 4th choice striker with a decent championship goal record, nothing wrong with this signing at all and we're breaking even on net spend so technically we haven't spent a penny.

Laughing at those of you slating the likes of Hanley when I bet none of you have even seen him play, we're now a signing away from having a big enough squad and on our way to the top of the championship (top by end of september as I said)

The calibre of players we've signed are no worse than the ones you lot have signed and are in the league above
This is exactly why it's hilarious. You've made signings for that level.:lol::lol:

As explained we don't have many that I'm worried about making the step up barring one or two, and the BIG difference is Sunderland are left with these players because quite frankly you cant attract better players, whether you admit it or not or how cringey you might think it sounds Newcastle is a much bigger prospect for players to sign for and Benitez is a big pull for a lot of players also.

Players move for money. That's it. They move for money. If you really think that there is some magic allure that you have or that Benitez has , you are gravely mistaken. Players move for money.

And they won't move on if it costs them money either. You will be paying the highest wages in that league, probably by a canny bit, so in the event of wanting to just 'move on' players next season, there will be a high cost. And uncle Mike might want to stop the flow of money outwards after he checks out the last two years of spending.

So the Messiah's genius plan is to pay big sums for Championship level players who will then not be good enough should they get promoted? £10M on Hanley and Clark.
Look at what he's spent £50M on man.
Rafa will be gone if they get promoted. Another paragraph for his CV. He won't care about the financial consequences for nuclear a few years down the line. Neither will MA if it comes to that.

Love and McNair are poor on evidence so far....but Pienaar is experienced, clever player, Manquillo showed yesterday that he is more complete player than Yedlin and has played for Spain at U21s and Djilibodji is light years ahead of cloggers like Handley. Ritchie is decent, Gayle is handy PL sub. The rest would struggle to get on our bench and we are no great shakes. Nothing wrong with building a team to get out of that league but the delusion is ridiculous.

Not sure why he would leave. He'll get a massive pay rise no doubt too.

The mags are recouping as much in fees as they're spending and again wages wise they're replacing like for like. However, they're selling a handful of players and buying 10, mostly very average standard, all on decent cash no doubt.!
AKA the ES school of football club ownership.

I genuinely thought this was a wind up thread, incredible they've signed another championship plodder.

110 league appearances for Sunderland- 14 goals
Defoe 52 league appearances 21 goals.

Forever in their shadow :(

Looking at his goal scoring record he's had one good season in the championship a couple of seasons ago and that's it, 5 million for a 33 year old Daryl Murphy.

You see a lot of our players already have premier league experience... however even if loads of them didn't there's this magical thing called the transfer window, its great.

you still have to get rid of he dross who will be on good wages, then spend BIG !
have you seen he prices of average player atm.......

What a pointless signing. They don't need him as they will go up anyway based on the strength of their squad and the other teams. He will be no use in the premier league and they'll end up loaning him out and shelling out his salary for the rest of the contract.

It would be hilarious if they don't get promoted and end up saddled with all this shite plus still stuck in the championship.
