you got to hand it. 200m people demanding the gold after the humiliation of the world cup

the emotion was total relief Imo and gave brazil a bit of pride back in their footballers. Well done brazil, really pleased for them

What time is Mo running?

Early start tomorrow for the match but tempted to stay up if he's not running too late
didn't hear whether Gaby said 15 or 50 minutes.

Paula Radcliffe is such a star. World record holder for ages (which is a staggering achievement with Kenyan and Ethiopian competition in her event). She is a fine ambassador for her sport with her strong anti-cheating stance. She's gorgeous too!

I planned to try and beat her in the 2008 NY Marathon by jogging behind her until she stopped for a crap and then I was going to shoot past her. That went out of the window at about 20 yards into the race! She is an incredible runner.

Your right but Ive never been able to forget her just giving up in one of her races that she was one of the favourites to win (Im sure it was the Olympics) when she knew she wasn't going to win. The first Olympics I remember was 1984 and there was a class documentary produced called 16 days of glory. In it it covered the decathlon and I always remember Jurgen Hingson busting his knee and he could barely doc the Pole Vault and realising he couldn't catch Daley Thompson. Instead of crying off he competed in the remaining events (Javelin and 1500 meters) as he wanted to finish "like a real athlete should finish".

I felt the same when I watched it. Athens, wasn't it? I kind of changed my mind after she won the NY Marathon. When I worked out where I was when she was finishing it really brought it home. But aye, she ought to have finished in Athens even if she came last.
