If you can remember, we were forced to remove our black cat logo from our shirt around 99/2000. I thought it was a great touch and it seemed quite harsh when we were made to remove it and or cover it up by the Premier League/FA.

I was looking at the new Liverpool third strip and noticed they have a torch on their top with a reference to the 96 that lost their lives at Hillsborough. I think that's good but is this not justification that we should also be able to adorn a black cat on our shirt if we wish?

Liverpool also have the following quote on their shirt: "Liverpool players must play like a lion". Yes corny, but is this any different to our black cat? It seems there are rules for one and rules for another. If their stance has changed, then we should get the black cat on our shirts asap.

A club could only have their official crest on the shirt and anything else has to be compliant with FA/PL logos. As it wasn't an FA/PL logo, it wasn't compliant & we had to remove it.

I can't remember exactly but it had something to do with using a superstitious logo that could be seen as an advantage  This was only in 99/2000 by the way and not in 1690s Salem.

To be fair, if we were playing a team from the 16th century it probably would have been an advantage. As it was it was faux outrage equivalent to todays clickbait.

It was something to do with it being the logo of the SAFC Supporters Association. That meant along with Reg Vardy and Asics we had 3 'company' logos on our shirt when the maximum allowed was 2.

Did we actually remove it or did we formally nickname the club the 'black cats'. IIRC at the time you were only allowed something like that on the kit if it was in relation to the clubs nickname.

It was a while ago now so I can't remember exactly

The players were forced to cover it up. They used to wear duct tape over it or something like that iirc.

Has anyone got an image of our strip in 99/2000 showing the logo?

For many on here there should be their own special logo.
Two crying babies in soaking wet nappies and underneath in latin
''It's not fair bwaaahhh''

Unauthorised shirt adornment was the reason.

Sponsors logo of a certain size.
Club badge of a certain size.
Manufacturers logo of a certain size.
PL Logo of a certain size.
Is all thats allowed.

Some forrin owners want adverts on the back above the number and on the bottom below the number and on the shorts anarl. Scudamore may be an arse but hes fighting against that as it makes the shirts look tacky and indistinguishable form Mexican and Scottish ones plus itd devalue both the PL & Main Sponsors effect.
We've got a forrin owner.
