2006 Intertoto cup .
FFS man woman man. They 'won' it by starting two rounds after most others teams in a tournament that nobody wanted to be in and then being the last team from that tournament to get knocked out of another tournament which a different team won , and to top the lot they won a trophy designed by @cheeses of nazereth

We should petition the Echo for a pullout
Anyone on here see us lift this prestigious piece of silverware??

Sunderland marked their centenary in style with a memorable success in the Daily Express Five-a-side championships just days later.

Kevin Arnott hit six goals in total as the Wearsiders – under Frank Clark’s control – thrashed Newcastle 4-0 in the semi-final before deservedly beating Brighton 2-0 in the final.

Think it was on sports night what a night haha
I laugh everytime i see your avatar mate. :) the rev wraith had a big part in a recent 'vera' and knows gangtas as well as finding time to be the newcastle chaplin . One hell of a guy.

Remember watching the 5 aside as a barn. Great victory against the mags that cant be marred by thir claims f winning more corners and throwins like the recent derby so therefore a real proper win.

I think they got in because they were 10th or something. Mad shit
It was by invitation, do not think the league position had anything to do will it. I am really surprised they are still going on as if it's a major trophy, in reality they have not won anything since 1955 when everything was in black and white

There was coverage (1 page) in Match magazine of our 5 a side cup win. It will be at my mothers, I will dig it out one day at put it on here - well someone can show me how to!

So basically only mags who have been retired a few years and over will be able to remember them win anything worthwhile. Oh and the vast majority will have only seen grainy black and white images and film as a good percentage of those who went will be deed or too far into senility to remember....

To put thing into perspective this film came out after their last major trophy.

It seems our deluded cousins from up the road didn't like what happened at the Everton game.
