If the 4 decent players, they have, say they want to leave he'll be on the next helicopter to the Wirral.

The one's who'd remain, like Shelvey, Riviére & Perez, aren't best suited for the lower leagues.

Mitrovic would go into his shell quicker than a tortoise in a bush fire.[/QUOTE]

Why would a so called world class manager need plenty of transfer funds to get out the championship ? Dyche managed it twice without spending much

He asking for so much transfer budget in the knowledge it will get rejected, so he has got an easy excuse to leave and thus retain the kudus of his famous relegation win

And the blame is shifted back onto Ashley& Co. The bed sheets would be out again

Wednesday will come and go, he still won't have checked down the back of the couch for that elusive pen. Meanwhile the jawdee nashun holds its collective stinking breath.

With every passing day there’s that slight chance of him chucking it increasing.

Maybe he’s looking at Mourinho getting a big job and increasing his standing and he thinks-“I can’t drop down to division 2”

Won’t happen but wouldn’t it be marvellous?

smokescreen, delaying tactics to smoke out a better offer there or elsewhere.
time running out, he can't cock tease them forever

So they can immediately challenge for a champions league place once they're promoted.
mexit has crushed them, the only thing thats stopping the riot is the faint hope that all this benitez fantasy comes true

Good point .......... he'll also be looking at the likes of Dyche, Allardyce & Pulis and wondering how dinosaurs are roaming 'his planet' ;)

I came across this article which, imho, makes for an interesting read.

Rafa Benitez's Newcastle future: A warning from Alan Shearer - but why this can be different to 2009

huge dent in an ego used to running a contender club.... not some punch drunk hasbeen,
trading on dimming memories of being the entertainers

In the cold light of day anyone of his supposed stature would be asking serious questions of themselves as to why they would manage a championship club.
