Newcastle Manager Situation

I think they've left it too late. I can't see any manager going in and trying to save them with only 10 games remaining. The have form of appointing from within. Hopefully they will.

Is he?

Sacked at Liverpool. Shite at inter, napoli and Madrid.

When was his last good season?

Tbf he done very, very well at Liverpool last season aside. And he was decent in his half season at Chelsea, in very tricky circumstances.

That said, I agree that he struggled at Inter and Madrid (both considerably bigger and tougher jobs than others ye had) and was probably about "par" at Napoli.

I'd be worried if they got him, cos he's a smart fucker and would likely get the organised. Although I do wonder if he's maybes lost a bit of his quality that he had a few years back.

He should have won far more at Liverpool with the players he had

Hopefully similar fate

They may change their policy given their league position. Doubt any of the decent managers they've been linked with would take the job unless they had total control over transfers

I'd be suprised if they did change their policy as that will be another board member gone who is I expect currently part of the group making the new appointment.

I'd disagree. He won the CL and FA Cup, got to a second CL final as well as decent cup performance elsewhere. As for league position, I think he improved every year until his last (when he had a complete fuck up) and considering that for his first three seasons he was up against a Mourinho Chelsea and Ferguson Utd (then obviously a Ferguson United for the last few as well).

He's held in very, very high regard by most Pool fans tbf, and his job there was very good. Prior to his nightmare last season (which had a load of other shit going on) , he was excellent there

Technically yes. 10 games is what you need to win in a decent cup run. After that, not sure. Ashley won't pay the going rate.
But cup games are spread out tbf. You can manage fitness better.

I don't think they'll get Benitez, but I just don't think he's as good as people think.

Even so that's a fair few years back. Since then his league performances have been dire.

He was well below par at Napoli like, took them from 2nd to 5th in 2 seasons despite being the highest spenders in the league during his time there.

I went to a match at Valencia a few months ago and did the stadium tour. They rate him there, a bit higher than Gary Neville it's safe to say...

Did well at liverpool, but so he should have considering what he spent.

Would rather he went there than someone like moyes

He had a better squad at Liverpool than Rodgers did, and Rodgers almost won the league. Lived off that Champions League win. I still say they could have played that second half a thousand times again and still not won.
