I wasn't saying you were. I am asking if you are equally as outraged on the internet when it's some random bloke from the street rather than someone who plays for your club?
I wasn't outraged, I stated the legal facts/terminology and quantified my statement by saying I wasn't defending him. Not sure which bit suggests otherwise.

:)
It is. 100%.
I just watched the interview the Policewoman gave the BBC today. She says she spoke with MB and the club on the day of arrest.
That day, AJ was telling Stacey etc that he thought she was 16 I think, no?

Loved HearSay, me. Suzanne Shaw remains one of the greatest women ever to grace this planet.

He admitted in the police station interview he knew she was 15.

This is unpopular mate, but I'd lock all threads on the issue until things have calmed down. For me, the media can fuck off

that would make it worse for all to see, it would look like we ourselfs are also happy to see it swept under the carpet, we need to be open and honest here its the only way to keep it all out and clean.

"During the trial the jury was told that, by May 4, chief executive Margaret Byrne met Johnson and his barrister and she had all the messages exchanged and transcripts from police interviews."

She's dead in the water, surely

No it wasn't, the police confirmed under oath during the trial that no details were given to the club about Johnson's interview, so they only told them the allegations, not that he'd admitted anything.

Why are you choosing to ignore the statement made today by the top detective on this case, referring to her own "very detailed" meeting with Margaret Byrne. Is your position that she is lying? Are you suggesting that the QC lied in court, when he said that all of the messages and the interview transcript had been given to the club?

Lookup my previous posts on this thread, far too long and boring for me to go through again.

But the detective in Court made a very different statement under oath.

She told the club he had messaged and kissed the girl, because he had himself admitted to that in his interview when he was arrested. It was not "speculation" at that point and it was not "an allegation". He had admitted it, and that was communicated to the club.

Yet he was pleading not guilty.

You say it would be unusual to get more than 4 years. Going by those guidelines I mentioned it will be quite a bit more.
Yes but as I said before those guidelines are for offences down to the age 12 and including having sexual intercourse and not just a finger.

So while i'm not disputing the sentencing guidelines he is at the less serious end of the range, which is why although 5 years may be the starting point I would be amazed if he gets that much. You could have penetrative sexual intercourse with a 12 year old and you would still be in that sentencing range.

"[The lead detective] told BBC News: "They were given detail that he had met the girl and sexual activity had taken place."

She said the club was also told he had exchanged messages with the girl.

She added: "At the centre of this we have a 15-year-old girl who was an avid Sunderland fan and a massive fan of Adam Johnson, she describes him as her idol, she'll want to know why he was allowed back on the pitch."

Has someone on here actually done that?

I haven't seen it but that's terrible if they have.
Yes mate i think they have. We can argue all day and all night about the clubs position on this - my position is they have a case to answer. However I cant get beyond a multimillionairre has been proven and confessed in a court of law that he groomed and took advantage sexually of a child. Look at some of the posts - yes but she knew what she was doing! f***ing border line nonces themselves. This is a child who was only just 15!
