yesterday's statement basically said "Adam Johnson never said he was pleading guilty so we just assumed he would plead not guilty" but didn't address the fact they clearly knew he was guilty. With that evidence, I don't think they needed his plea intention in black and white like.

He was pleading not guilty at the point. He hadn't admitted to anything.
Byrne was told that he had messaged and kissed a child. What part of that are you struggling to get your head around?
