So why didn't the club refute the lies in the club statement and address the one issue most are asking about?
Its not most though, is it? I for one, feel they've said enough. Bleating on for more from them does nobody any good, and just drags it all on even more. He's been proven to be a liar, and the club have said he lied to them.

Not sure what workplace you work in then. I would be suspended immediately. As would most public employees be.

I wouldn't be like, we were talking about it at work once. There was a fella falsely accused of rape, which collapsed before trial, he carried on working as long as he could.

There are different circumstances, but I wish people would not go on like its a black and white issue.

This mob mentality about calling for Byrne's head, I sometimes think the internet is the worst thing to happen for a while.

Lucky you then. I know what you mean though.

It doesn't at all.

Read about English Law.

There is no such concept as what you're claiming, although there is under Scottish Law.

Under English Law a Not Guilty verdict means you are not culpable of the crime with which you are charged.

You haven't a clue what you're going on about. He hasn't been found guilty as there was reasonable doubt. It's not a test of anything else, it's not a test of his innocence, it's a test of his guilt and the jury decided there was reasonable doubt over what had happened.

You clearly have little understanding of English Law.

A Not Guilty verdict does in fact mean you are not culpable of the crime with which you have been charged.

That verdict is used to specifically express that you are not guilty, in other words innocent, of the crime brought before you. Moreover, you didn't do it.

Well, they aren't specifically saying " you didn't do it " are they? They have determined that there is a reasonable doubt as to whether they are guilty and there is a tangible difference.

But, as others have stated, they have not denied the statement that was made against them in that they knew that he had confessed to some of the allegations, i.e kissing the lass. They have issued a statement only saying that they were not aware that he was going to plead guilty. They have not mentioned anything about knowing he had admitted that he had done it.
It stinks of a massive cover up to protect Byrne from yet another major fuck up.

He wasn't a public employee. Think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. Think we can all agree that the club needs to put the whole sorry affair behind them.
