He was such a very,very,very good player when he first broke onto the scene along with Benzema.. Where did it all go wrong?

You said he was a class player though, not just that he had loads of ability. I'd argue that there's too much stopping him being a class player outside of his actual ability and that's as much part of his make up as a player as his ability and talent.
